So, guys.
I hate how Facebook mobile is forcing us to use the Messenger app
Yup same here.I waited as long as could for that. Someone messaged me last Saturday and I was forced to get it.
Post credit card info and pictures of your junk, obviously.
The messenger app makes no sense to me. We are now forced to use an app, for a feature that was previously available on the old Facebook app. Now you have to go onto Facebook, check out that dumb ****, then if you have a message, back out, and open up a new app for something we were able to do before.
Are they making money off this messenger app? I don't see any other reason for it, other than that. I'm not DLing it. I'm almost done with facebook as it is. My facebook is about 95% baby pics now. It's pretty annoying. I'd take the bedazzled Myspace layout, if it meant no more baby pics.
I think they shouldve just intergrated the app into the regular Facebook app. I dont know why they dont. Probably for some money/business reason.
What was the difference between their messenger app and regular Facebook app?
there's a lot of privacy issues with the messenger app that have people in an uproar. when i looked it up, the article stated that it pretty much gives FB complete freedom to go through your phone and everything on it
Facebook is obviously going through your browser history. A lot of sites do.Glad I don't enter facebook using my phone
But I don't they check the computer as well?
That's almost anything you install on your phone though. Does anyone ever read the full TOS on anything?
Most of that actually sounds reasonable for the features the app has. But when you see it all laid out like it is in Android, it looks really scary, yeah.i read them on occassion. i'm fairly picky about what i install on my phone too
these are the articles i read on it

Basically the Messanger app is just for your messages. You cant view timelines newsfeed or anything like that. In shhort it's just a whole seperate app just to send messages. Imo it's clunky, superfulous, and Im still trying to figure out how turn off notifications for it permanently.
It would be great if you could get a notification for every new message thread started rather than for every message sent.
I didnt even know about all the privacy issues that Comic Chick mentioned earlier
