This is a scarecrow thread. Here you can talk about this batman villain. Almost anything about this vilain. Well for me I like Scarecrow and thought he was really good on BB.:batty:

I thought he was good in Jeepers Creepers, and in that one episode of Goosebumps.

I'm talking aboout the Batman Scarecrow.:ninja:

Yesssssss I was. So back on-topic!

I think you got that backwards.:o

Maybe. It depends what he looks like.

If he looks like this:

I have trouble getting the "fear" aspect of the character because I think he looks half silly.

However if he looks like this:

Then he's creepy and awesome. In my mind, he becomes a better figure of fear.

The movie did both. The simple mask gave him a sadistic appearance and then the fear gas view made you see how creepy he could be.

I think the last issue of Detective did a good job of making the Scarecrow scary. I wasn't going to buy it at first because Dini wasn't writing it, but after hearing good things I bought it anyway. I don't regret it. Also, he was really cool in BB.

And I'm looking forward to seeing him in TDK.

Didn't get a chance to read it yet, though I have it waiting. Good to hear it's an enjoyable read.

Like him in the comics and in TAS, thought he sucked ass in BB. Would of been great for Burton in the Batman Returns style of movie. I like his first TAS episode were Batman has the visions of his father calling him a failure then he gets up and yells "I am vengeance, i am the night, i am Batman!", then busts everything up. Such a badass moment.

Scarecrow should have looked like a scarecrow in BB.

"Would you like to see my Scarecrow suit?...I know it's not-hold on a minute...damn boots...can you tie this real quick? Okay, zip me up. Wait wait, not yet...gatta stuff straw in random places..."

Lol, sorry. So what else what his your favourite Scarecrow story from the comics?

His Year One origin tale was great, as was 'Fear'. I dont know, I've always enjoyed every story with the 'crow in it - take away the 'fantasical' element that is the fear gas and he's probably the most ordinary, everyday, realistic villain Batman has.

A guy who was made fun of his entire life decides to get back at those who tormented him. Classic.

worst costume/appearance of all the batman rogues

I always loved Ross' take from Justice. THAT was a great costume.

Sometimes. On other occasions, it looks rather creepy and frightening. Like here:

I wish he would have this guise more often.

I don't really like those either. If I had it my way he wouldn't look so much like literal scarecrow, with the big hat and friggin straw poking out everywhere. There's alot of generic scary scarecrow designs like that around. I'd like it more stylised and unique.

Edit - actually no the bottom one's not bad. Big coat. Nice and simple.

Just wanna bump this.

I like Scarecrow in the comics and TAS. He's a character with a lot of potential. As he also had tons of potential in Begins but it was a huge let-down. It wasn't really the characterization, that was ok. It's just that he was TERRIBLY underused. He was in no more than 10 minutes of the entire movie and wearing just a potato sack and a business suit was terrible. It's a shame Nolan treats him as only a C(not even B) rate villain. And in TDK, he will have even less screen time. Characterization wasn't bad, had he dressed throughout the movie like he does in the finale, it would have been better. And he really could have used at least 10 more minutes of screen time.

On the positive side, the hat wasn't needed, even though I would have liked it. I thought him on the fire-breathing red eyed horse in the straight jacket was great. But it wasn't even a minute long scene. Props to Cillian Murphy for doing his best to make it a memorable role. I loved the fear gas voice.

Rachel: Crane!
Crane: No...Scarecrow!
