It's likely that Plummer just followed all those people after the article went live because he was excited. Means very little. THR specifically said they hadn't selected anyone yet.

That's just a bad picture.
Harryoscop's teachings are that we should only judge an actor by the worst pic.
He does it himself all the time when he wants proof that people like Aiken and Dillane don't suit/look like Peter Parker at all.
Harryoscop even called Robbie Kay to be too creepy even for an Osborn, judging by a pic where the actor smirks and tries to look evil (getting into character/Peter Pan).

So THIS is what we should go by when we discuss Plummer:

This, and no other pic where he looks better!!!!!

They also said age could factor into the final decision, so you never know.

As of last night, when the article was released. THR said that Marvel wouls likely make their decision early this week, which it now is. When did Plummer start following everyone on Twitter? I didn't see it on his page this morning, so he might have already gotten the call this afternoon and followed afterward.

Could be wrong, but we'll see soon enough. :)

That could easily be taken out of context. Maybe age could factor into it and they'll go with Asa, Holland or Rowe instead because they're 18/19 and there's no child labor laws.

They will likely make the announcement soon after the decision is made.

Charlie or Tom please!
The rest of the choices don't look like Peter Parker. If it turns out to be that Asa Butterscotch kid, he alone will be enough to kill all of my hype for this series.

Rowe, followed by Holland for me.

I'm sorry but he's a dead ringer for Ultimate Peter Parker imo.

You've said that about several other candidates before, none of whom look anything like each other. :hehe:

I don't wanna sound a little over-dramatic, but I can't help but agree with this

Haven't decided but with those choices I wait to see when it's announced.

I honestly think Rowe would be the best choice and would bring the least amount of complaints from everyone about not looking enough like Peter, being too dry or lacking energy, being too short, too ugly, lacking charisma etc.

I will say that out of everyone on that shortlist, he definitely does seem to be the the one with the least (if any) glaring complaints (age, look, humor, charisma). Only negative/complaint I could think of is lack of resume proving his acting chops, but from what I've seen he's certainly not bad, just hasn't had any real chance to prove himself yet

Chris Evans was someone who wasn't given the benefit of the doubt in terms of his acting but can anyone picture another Cap right now? He was perfect for the role. So any discussion of acting right now, I take lightly.

I hope Rowe gets. Just by going on Twitter and other blogs (ONTD, etc) he's the choice that everyone seems to want. Since getting the general audience to watch these movies is a pretty big deal, he would be the far better option.

Yeah, Marvel and Sony don't want to be going into this movie (or Civil War) with a handicap already if they have all these fans against their casting choice. I think it would be a disaster to cast someone really young like Lintz or Lewis. Even Plummer is pushing it.

Very true. Same with Hemworth (terrible-to-mediocre actor, solid Thor)

Rowe's very young though, so I'd say he even still has the potential to be much better than those 2

I agree. Fandom doesn't have the best track record of predicting who's wrong or right for these type of parts, so to dismissing actors without giving them a chance to prove themselves, is premature.

That said, I do like Rowe and he impressed me a few years back in the Peter Pan prequel. Even then, as a younger actor he played well off of another Spiderman alum, Rhys Ifans.

Accidentally voted for Tom Holland (who would be my #2 choice) instead of Asa Butterfield (who I admit is the only one here I am overly familiar with).

Are we, as fans and mortal people, allowed to have this opinion?
We sure are rebels and we are able to see through the lies and understand what's good/bad.
But it's dangerous to question the "system".

We should just smile and go with the flow, and be overly happy with whoever Marvel/Sony cast. We should trust that they always know what's best for us. They're "gods" and one just doesn't question a god

Gosh, this sounds like I'm describing a dystopian fascist society

Well even if fans were to all blindly subscribe to everything Marvel puts out, the general audience would still have their own opinion and would likely think that two of them are little kids.

Yeah, the scary part is that certain posters get angry when we express our opinions freely, and try to convince us to trust Marvel because they have never let us down before.

Are they agents in disguise, trying to regain control of us?
