The First Family is back, a Future Foundation for Four Fantastic Phases?

Also, I hope they make Reed as smart as he should be: which means he should be much smarter than anyone else (with the exception of Doom), including Stark, Banner, etc.

That’s a fun aspect of the timing of this.

You thought Tony Stark was smart? Wait until you see Reed Richards.

You thought Thanos was powerful? Wait until you see Galactus.

You thought Loki was conniving, ambitious and ruthless? Wait until you see Dr. Doom.

That's it! You nailed it.

I agree. He should be a different kind of a**hole. Reed should be annoying because he's too serious, not too flip. When people are wrong, Reed should tell them so. and it should be blunt and cringe-inducing - not funny or flip. I picture Reed as similar in some ways to Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, with no filter or patience for the ignorance of others. Though he should also be calmer, less frenetic and not appearing as if he just did a couple lines.

Hopefully RDJ will survive IW, because, if done right, it would be a lot of fun to see him and Reed going at it.

Johnny Lee Miller could've been Reed if they were going for someone that age and wanted a Sherlock vibe. His own Sherlock in Elementary is pretty similar to Cumberbatch's.

He might be too old now though at 45 (although I personally don't think that's too old).

I think they need to get the best actor for the part of Reed though, even if he is a little older. He's probably the hardest and most essential to cast out of the FF.

I think though Miller probably is too quirky and not dashing enough.

Tim Daly would've been my pick if they were going for a much older Reed. It's not like he's on his last legs either but still fit and healthy at his age.

To me hardest of these to sell to the GA would be the first one.

Convincing people Galactus is more powerful should be easy if you do him correctly and not make him ... You know... a cloud.

Doom's iconic look absolutely screams ruthless ambition so that should be an easy sell as well.

Telling the GA that anyone is smarter than the MCU version of Tony Stark? Much tougher in my opinion. He's been the undisputed genius/inventor of the MCU so far so I think it will take something pretty significant to dethrone him of that title. Can it be done? Sure, but I think it will take some skillful writing.

Regardless I am EXTREMELY eager to see what they do. Super psyched! :woot:

That's why you have to cast really well for Reed. It can't be a lightweight or some overly nerdy type. It has to be someone confident but smart. But you can't just tell the audience he is smart. They have to already recognise this actor as someone who seems intelligent and very fast spoken.

Before RDJ played Stark, he was already known for his quick wit and fast-talking delivery. He gave off that intelligent vibe already.

For Reed, you need an actor who is already known for playing someone educated and being very smart. If you cast someone who seems dull or dimwitted, then no matter how much you tell people he's the smartest guy in the room, no-one is going to buy that.

Now that doesn't mean that Reed has to be such a fast talker, but he can't be really slow either. He does need to sound very intelligent when he speaks.

Someone like Patrick J Adams from Suits could've worked but although he's 36, he still has a boyish look about him. That's the problem with a lot of actors even in their 30s. They still don't have quite the right physical maturity or gravitas.

But Adams's character in Suits is very intelligent and has the right level of cockiness and arrogance and is a relatively fast talker. But at the moment he comes across more like an adult Peter Parker than a Reed Richards.

I see your point about Adams. In that show he has a very nonchalant confidence about his own intelligence which projects a "I know I'm always the smartest guy in the room" vibe. I think he might be too short and slight for the role but that's exactly what I thought about RDJ as Stark so what the eff do I know. :loco:

I've been on the Patrick Wilson train for awhile, but I have a feeling they'll cast someone no one else has thought of and we'll all be like "Now why didn't I think of him. He's perfect!"

finishing The Crown season 2 at the moment. And while I was against Matt Smith as Reed initially, the last couple of episodes won me over. We know he can play brilliant genius from his Who days, but his Prince Philip, especially in season 2 showed some maturity in his acting that was surprising

Thanos is only being introduced in conjunction with the infinity gems with their use he is stronger than Galactus

That is the case in the comics. In the MCU there's nothing indication the gems are like in the comics, and that they make the user all powerful and unbeatable. From what we've seen so far, it's far from it.

Galactus and other high cosmic beings, specially considering their role in the universe, can be introduced as being much more powerful.

That happens a lot in the comics. Once, the cosmic cube was the most powerful thing around, until the infinity gems were introduced, for example. Korvac was the cosmic threat to beat, then it was the Beyonder, which was said to be the most powerful entity... Then he wasn't. I could go on and on. If we go by the last Secret Wars, the gauntlet is not all powerful at all.

Patrick Wilson is who you just described. Here is him as Reed being serious, with Sue, and Mole Man
