The Fly (1986) and The Fly II

I seen first one, it was great movie.

Haven't ever watched the second one but the first is among the best monster movies.

I bought The Fly II on DVD cause it was $5 and it was the first film I ever saw in a theatre, I thought it was awesome then but then again I was 5 years old. So like Doctor Emmett Brown I figured, what the hell and bought it. When I rewatched it now that I'm older I realized how inferior it was to Cronenberg's, there really is no real suspense or genuine concern about any of the characters. They're so cookie cutter you don't care but I have to say the one scene that still gets to me is the one where he kills the dog. I think The Fly however is the greatest sci-fi remake ever it's only matched by Carpenter's The Thing. Such a great film.

the first is good because of the character and the way it was filmed. the masks were also good. i liked how he became more like a fly.

the end was fantastic.

Head split and jaw rip.:woot: Excellent film great characters and story, spectacular Make-up FX. Part 2 not even close to cronenberg's masterpiece but it was good in a B-movie entertaining Saturday matinée flick kinda way.

The first one was good. The second just as crap as most horror movie sequels are.

First was spectacular. And probably unlike anything the general audiences were really expecting to be quite honest. The sequel was ok, but wasnt really my cup of tea. I have both on DVD. Bought The Fly II more or less for the very insightful ducumentary on the entire Fly saga actually.

the first fly is a brilliant movie. the second isn't, but is still fun to watch.

I have The Fly (1986) on DVD and it is excellent at watching the interviews really explaining the groundbreaking effects at the time, I agree that The Fly 2 is rather inferior but the music is excellent on both films that I bought a double CD of both scores.

The Fly II is a precursor to Starship Troopers II, in that the person responsible for the effects in the first film thought they were competent enough to direct the sequel.

The Fly is a Cronenberg masterpiece and Fly II is a 80's gore classic.
Love both films.
The first is best obviously.
