There's a character named Walter Sobchak, played by John Goodman. He is a converted Jew (did so when he married a Jewish woman, kept practicing after they divorced). He, at one point, angrily explains that he can't participate in a bowling tournament on a Saturday by screaming that he is "Shomer f'ing Shabbos!"

"You're out of your element" is a phrase he occasionally says to his mousy friend Donnie, played by Steve Buscemi.
