The Grinch Refuge Thread

I was told I was to old to sit on Santa's lap yesterday. :cmad: Like I wasn't already upset about aging.

I'm still not in the christmas spirit...

My Christmas pretty much sucked. I spent the day at the hospital with my as-yet unnamed newborn daughter & her mom. An attempt to settle on a name turned out as many of them do, with a barrage of bad suggestions turning into a barrage of intentionally bad suggestions which, while amusing, get us nowhere. My one & only gift was a t-shirt that in no way fits my personality from someone who's had 3 years to learn this. The baby was in a crabby mood all day, as was her mother. So all in all, pretty disappointing. I'm hoping for a better outcome tomorrow.

Merry Grinchmas everybody. I hope nobody has to regift... but you most likely will. Bah humbug and all that jazz.

Speaking of regifting, I got a Clone Wars alarm clock/radio & I didn't like it. I'm a BIG TIME Star Wars fan, however this thing is meant for kids. Besides, I already have an alarm clock with radio. :down

Well, I've just come to the realization that certain people in my family just bore me to tears. (Well, it's always been a fact that I find associating with massive groups of people completely boring anyway whether they're family or not. I like to focus on just a few small pods of people whom I find interesting, not a room full of people talking but having nothing interesting to say.)Why do I say this? Yesterday we had our Christmas Eve gathering of my siblings, etc. etc. I had way more fun playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite with my nephews than being downstairs with the adults. Of course a jealous younger sister didn't make the decision to go upstairs and play video games any harder.

I worked Christmas Eve which is fine. Easy money.

But, yeah, Christmas day kinda sucked as usual. Did nothing. I got $50 as a gift though. Can't complain there.

I miss my girlfriend :(

I worked from 6am to 2pm. Not bad since I'm alone this xmas and can use the holiday pay to buy myself presents.

Also , my boss bought us turkey dinners from Denny's , that was really good.

My boss was a Grinch & cheapo!! He didn't give out bonuses, plus no Xmas dinner. We instead had to all chip in $10.00 a piece for the dinner. I decided to skip on it & spend quality time somewhere else.

I actually bought one of those for a buddy of mine. He has said he'd like anything toy related. Lego, DC, Star Wars, etc. The quirkier the better. So, he got the Lego Yoda clock. And LOVED it!!

Anyone else noticed Target started airing Christmas sale commercials?

I've been seeing Christmas stuff in stores since Labor Day. I love Christmas, but not until after Thanksgiving. Santa needs to get his big fat ass out of other holidays!
I've bee lucky that Wal-mart around here hasn't rolled it out yet, but my K-Mart has 12 aisles of Christmas already, and Toys R Us alreayd has one aisle set up. Despite still having Thanksgiving, at least wait for Halloween to be over.

There's already valentines day stuff up where I'm at, let alone the christmas stuff.

i wouldn't mind if it was at the end of november but they've been out for weeks
its ridiculous that they overstep other holidays like this
