The Gunbarrel scene could have been so much better!

The gun barrel sequence is The BEST yet.
I do think that now that Bond is Bond, they will use the classic again.

I love the scene.
So badass.

I actually kind of wish that they'd intergrate them into the movies from now on. It worked so well in Casino, and made sense. Nothing fancy (especially no colliding bullets) but how it was in Casino.

Time to go back to the drawing board, Serious Duke!

The sequence was excellent, having it long and drawn out would have taken away the threat and danger of the villain coming back to life.

Please don't try and make a fan sequel to this film : o

Exactly. That's the point. Well, in movies you can do anything. Bond's bullet goes so fast that it pushes the enemies back into it's barrel, blowing up the gun... big explosion occurs that cues to the credits.

That's not realistic at all.

My favorite part in Casino Royale was the introduction to the gun barrel... giving us a reason for why we see it in each and every Bond film. I loved how they did it... however, it got me thinking... they could have done it so much cooler! Here's how.

Okay, the scene goes as it does in the film, with the bathroom. They should have had the guy lift up his gun, point it at Bond, and then we get an inside view of the gun. We see the bullet inside the barrel, ready to fire, the gun fires, we see the bullet lift out of the gun with a flash of fire and sparks, now we have a first person view locked onto the bullet, exiting the gun barrell(yes, we actually leave the gunbarrel). We see Bond notice this, he turns around aiming his gun. He fires. His bullet collides with the other bullet and both bullets are pushed into the gun(we re-enter the gunbarrel) as the gun sparks and blows up since it is jammed. The blood drips down as this happens... enter title sequence.

It sounds complicated, but I think this would have made the scene so much more badass... they should use it for the next bond film.

Ugh, that would be stupid. That scene was perfect.

that sounds too matrix like. To have everything be done the way you describe it would involve bullet time( no pun intended) the movie version was fine

if you think your scene would have worked.... you have to be litrally ****ing insane! this movie was realistic and also perfect as it is... and to add that scene you so idiotically made up with your own wits.... christ....

you the kinda dumbass who would **** up a franchise

no you the kind of dumbass who would ruins all movies wiht you outlandish ideas

are you really John peters???? or are you related??? best friends????

*sigh*

Yeah, that bullets meeting thing would have been a little much. Having the dude get up, and Bond killing him was enough for me. It was nice.

Sony took down the Youtube video.
I didn't rip the video either.

:csad:

lol... I know it's not realistic... I just couldn't find the right word. Casino Royale was very intricate, and I just wanted a more intricate type scene. That's all... now that I think of CR in a whole, it would have seemed way to intricate and ultimately unrealistic for that scene... maybe it would have worked amazing in DAD.:whatever:

That's not intricate, that's complicated. Read a dictionary. Bullet time matrix style doesnt belong anywhere near Bond.

It's not that I think it's too complex. Just seems unneccesarily complex, having Bond just shoot the gun and kill the guy works I think. Having his bullet meet with the other bullet and go back into the chamber....I dunno, just not working for me.

Well, first of all, that gunbarrel scene is unrealistic in the Bond films to begin with. To have the bullet go into the barrel, come out the other end, and blow the shooters brains out.

With MY gunbarrel, this gives the shooter a chance... and Bond shoots back, the bullet still goes into the gunbarrel, and the blood comes down. But, this time the gun should explode, as it really would.

I'm just saying, we should give the shooter a chance, but then have Bond win in the end.

I though the gun barrel inrtoduction was done perfectly. Great scene, great movie.

Who says the bullet goes into the gunbarrel? It doesn't. They only did that for DAD and even on the commentary they say "It was just put in there to be put in, and shouldn't be taken seriously or done again.

He just shoots the guy, that's it. Stop complicating everything and saying it's unrealistic

What kind of crack are you smoking? You want more realistic, so you want a bullet to collide in midair with another bullet (already the odds are in the trillions)...then the bullet push back the other bullet because apparently, Bond is pulling the trigger *harder* and therefore his bullet is faster (big WTF here)..and then go into the gunbarrel (odds are off the charts) and explode the gun.

Yeah. Realistic is the word I'd use.
Best response ever. :)

I don't see how it could have been better. I loved it.

I remembered thinking, where the F*** is the opening gun barrel scene. And then they sprung it on us and I thought it was Awesome.

Hot damn, I believe you have just found the one thing that could actually top the CGI para-sailing scene in pure cheesiness factor.

The day they actually do something as stupid as that is the day the CnB-ers win.

I loved the new gunbarrel. I loathed the modern ones. They were all too flashy and the music was all messed up. But this one I loved. It could be a new way to start the new Bond films. The end of every pre-title sequence could end with Bond shooting someone and then go into the credits.

The gun barrel scene was alright, but went by way to fast. We were in the barrel a total of a 1/2 second before he shots. Didn't like that.
