The Hangover

The budget (while not confirmed) is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 to $35 million.

Thats why studios love making stupid comedies and horror filsm with rehashed ideas that have been seen over and over again onscreen.

They are cheap to make and there are plenty of suckas that are the general movie going to public that love seeing fools act like fools onscreen.

Easy way to turn a profit.

The trailers for this movie did absolutely nothing for me, but my friends wanted to see it tonight and wow! What a surprise! I loved this movie wayyy more than I thought I would! Really hysterical comedy. 8/10 from me.

This movie was hilarious from start to finish, especially the end credit photo album. That was outrageous! But Zach Galifianikis and Ken Jeong definitely owned the movie.

Old Lady: "Whats His Name"?
Alan (Zach): *looks around* Carlos.

lol best line ever!

I don't know...Alan's prepared "speech" was classic.

"I'm a one man wolf pack." or something or other.:hehe:

yea, then *pulls knife and cuts his hands* lol

Just got back from it, great stuff, gonna go 8.5/10 for me, will do a more extensive review later

Got back an hour ago. This movie was hilarious from start to finish. My god, I don't even know where to start. I thought I Love You, Man was awesome, this was like if I Love You, Man had a baby with 40 Year Old Virgin, and then their baby had a baby with Knocked Up's baby; that's how funny it was.

10/10!

"Why do they call them ruphies? They should be called floorphies because you always end up on the floor!"

For me there wearnt too many LOL moments, BUT...the film was consistently funny.

Overall, i'd give it an 8/10...I had a great time.

"I'm a one man wolf pack." or something or other.:hehe:
"We're like wolves roaming the desert for hookers and cocaine."

How much do you think Tyson got paid for his cameo?

I swear, everyone who has seen the trailer is dying to see this.

How funny is Tyson's role in this?
Judging from the trailer, it seems blood awesome!

Maybe Tyson should be in more movies, he's a naturally funny guy!

The events surrounding Tyson's role were funny, I didn't find much what he said to be particularly hilarious

I'm as picky as one can get about the movies I see. I usually find something wrong with every movie I watch that prevents me from liking the entire finished product, but I LOVED this movie from start to finish. I came in expecting to be one of those movies that's funny throughout, but stumbles to the finish line ala Wedding Crashers, but no. Hilarious guy movie without a Full House-esque lesson to be learned at the end. See it if you haven't already. This one is an all-timer.

Fat Jesus. :hehe:

That was a funny line....I also liked

"it's funny because he's fat."

Turns out "The Hangover" DID beat "Up" this weekend for the #1 spot...

Beat em' by about 800,000.

this is a great achievement for R rated comedies everywhere!

yes good to see the hangover to beat up

Nice. I think they'll also get a decent number this coming weekend once word of how good the movie was gets around to those who haven't seen it already.

I'm surprised that the budget for this hasn't been revealed.

This is definitely lowest common denominator stuff...but man, is it a funny movie. Very little story or character development, but that's to be expected, and frankly, it's welcome in this one. Great ensemble cast of comedians. No one really stole the show from the rest of the group, and that was nice to see.

The teacher taking his students field trip money to fund his Vegas trip? Classic.

"Paging Dr. ***got!"

The semi truck thing...classic.

The police car bit...classic.

The tiger in the car? And then the guys pushing it to Mike Tyson's house? Classic.

Ken Jeong was annoying, funny, then annoying again, then funny again.

I absolutely loved the ending. I think Doug being left on the roof and being found half conscious and dehydrated is probably the funniest, most satisfying end there could have been. I was actually a little pissed when it appeared he'd been kidnapped.

The end credits are phenomenal. Showing what they showed in one slide, and then showing it AGAIN in a second slide...comedy gold. And Ed Helms ripping out his own tooth...priceless.

I thought it was a bit inconsistent, with some scenes (the hospital) not working really well, but very, very funny when it was funny.

Not one of the great comedies, but I don't think I've ever seen the audience engaged in a comedy the way they were for this. The pacing of the humor was interesting. Instead of a joke every few minutes, it was just oddly paced funny stuff.

I'd see a sequel.

How would the sequel be set up?

Ed Helms' character getting married?

Well, he's already married so that wouldn't work, right? I don't remember them actually getting the marriage anulled, only Jade giving the ring back before the guys drove back.
