This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]459383[/split]
I was like, "Pssh, I'm gonna smell delicious."Synopsis said:Three individuals have, somehow, found their way to a carnival, set in hell, and run by the devil. The trio is made up of a kleptomaniac, an obsessed father, and a gullible teenager, all of whom are doomed to repeat the very sins that delivered them to the carnival's doorsteps.
I find the best horror movies (or movies in general) are the ones that are either truly ground breaking or at least set the standard by which all other similar films are judged.
The Conjuring didn't set the bar nor break any new ground. Yet what it did do, it did very well. So if someone's in the mood to see a really well done haunted house/posssession movie, I'll recomend it. I certainly think it did the job better than the remakes of either House On Haunted Hill or The Haunting.
Although I'm definitely an all year round horror fan, I do a lot of watching in September and October because I too love the season. Its my favorite time of year.Every October I watch horror movies for the entire month leading right up to Halloween. Also I tend to read horror literature, comics etc. I also enjoy listening to Halloween related music. This is a tradition that I've been doing for years, I just love the atmosphere of that time of the year.

I don't do that entire month, but I definitely check out more horror movies as Halloween approaches. I also tend to have a Halloween movie marathon on Halloween night.

Oh man I know. I cannot wait. The only thing I miss is when I used to work at a pretty big haunted house in my area. It was so much fun, and really exhausting, but sadly, I haven't done it for the past 3 years due to getting into a bad situation regarding a former best friend and I, and the owner just happened to like my ex-friend better, and took his side on the matter so I haven't been back. I would love to but between said person and a few other people I never got along with, it just isn't worth it.Same here.
I've already geared up early this year. I've read 17 H.P. Lovecraft stories in the past week, and watched Romero's entire Dead series.
As I write this, I've got Re-Animator paused on my TV.
For some reason, I'm more excited about Halloween this year than others. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty much my Christmas... but I've definitely caught the holiday spirit big time this year.
What? We really need to see that!!!My halloween tradition I've started is every year I get a horror movie tattoo in October. I was thinking of a chucky tattoo this year. Maybe something for the evil dead remake. Not sure yet what to get but that's my new tradition.

Great idea although you may have second thoughts when you're in your 70's.
I forgot all about this: The Devil's Carnival. I saw it last year around Halloween on Netflix and I thought it was quite good. It's actually a series of short stories in the Creepshow/Tales the Crypt style. I'm watching it again this year, make it a sort of Halloween tradition.
I saw del Toro's The Devil's Backbone last night. Great film. I think one of the things I really dug about it was even if you removed the ghost entirely, the film still works great.
