The rumors on the Finnick casting have me not wanting to see this film, he is not what I imagine for Finnick really in the least.

We have our Mags!

Lynn Cohen Cast As Mags For ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’; Sam Claflin Looking Likely For Finnick

Lionsgate has announced that it set Lynn Cohen to play Mags in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Meanwhile, there has been an interesting behind the scenes battle for the plum role of Finnick.

Sam Claflin has been the favorite, but he had a problem with an option owed to another studio that presented date problems. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter stars Ben Walker, Boyd Holbrook and Tyler Hoechlin were the other competitors for that role, but it looks now like things have cleared for Claflin and that he’ll play the role. You’ve seen him in Snow White And The Huntsman and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Here’s the Mags news:

Santa Monica, CA, August 2, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Lynn Cohen has been cast in the role of Mags in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. A former mentor to Finnick Odair, Mags is an eighty year old Hunger Games victor from District 4.

Known to New York theater audiences for decades of memorable roles, Cohen has also appeared in critically acclaimed films such as Steven Spielberg’s Munich and Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, NY, as well as commercial fare such as Sex and The City and its sequel. She can next be seen in They Came Together, with Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.

Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE on November 22, 2013.

Looks wise, she looks almost exactly how I pictured Mags from the books.

And Kristen Chenoweth campaigned for Effie.

was it her or fans of hers? i was a big pusher for that but Banks has really done well so i'm pleased

kristen bell was hardcore trying to get the johanna role. she's a big fan of the trilogy so i wouldn't mind seeing her get a part in it. maybe annie or something

i can't wait to see who is cast as enobaria

And here ya go!

Criminal Minds' Meta Golding Joins Cast of Catching Fire

Meta Golding from Criminal Minds has joined the growing cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Golding will play Enobaria, a former tribute from District 2 who competes in a special all-star edition of The Hunger Games that occurs in the highly-anticipated sequel.

Golding recurred as agent Jordan Todd on Season 4 of Criminal Minds when A.J. Cook went on maternity leave. Her other TV appearances include guest roles on CSI, House and Dark Blue.

Catching Fire will feature returning cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson, as well as newcomers Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone and more.

The film is scheduled to be released on Nov. 22, 2013.

Heh, I don't think her teeth will be quite so, um, "pronounced" in the film, lol. :p

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' casts Brutus

You just don’t want to mess with District 2. A day after Meta Golding landed the role of the fearsome District 2 champion Enobaria in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Lionsgate announced today that actor Bruno Gunn (Bad Teacher, FX’s Sons of Anarchy) has been cast as fellow District 2 victor Brutus. (SPOILERS follow from here.)

Like his fellow career tribute Enobaria, Brutus signs up for the 75th annual Hunger Games, a.k.a. Quarter Quell, which pits former winners against each other, including Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). And like his fallen District 2 brother Cato from The Hunger Games, Brutus becomes one of the arena’s most lethal competitors. Just look at the guy.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will begin shooting later this year with director Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend). It’s due to open on Nov. 22, 2013.

The mere fact that Phillp Seymour Hoffman actually chose to come on board already has me feeling this has some merit.

Well the screenplay is written by Oscar winners Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) and Simon Beufoy (Slumdog Millionaire). I guess it will be good.

the brutus casting is pretty swell too. i bet a lot of people were fancasting Kevin Nash

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire': Alan Ritchson is Gloss

The Hunger Games Casting Item: #48 of 182.

Alan Ritchson, star of Spike TV’s Blue Mountain State, has been cast in the role of Gloss in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Gloss is a member of the pack of career tributes with whom Katniss ends up doing battle. We expect him to snarl and posture menacingly on screen.

Ritchson joins recently cast former victors Bruno Gunn as Brutus and Meta Golding as Enobaria.

Kinda funny, since didn't a bunch of people fan cast him as Finnick?

That show is my guilty pleasure, and he is seriously hilarious on it. Good job.

he looks more like Finnick than Chaflin, but i never fancast him in the role

He's too bulky and unattractive to be Finnick. :o

^ Well whoever is cast will have to carry peeta and mags for a portion of the movie so they will need muscle. Still cant get over the Claflin rumors he is not Finnick at least not in his current state.

When does this thing shoot again?

Bulky? Sam is not bulky at all, that's part of the problem! Although he's not attractive enough yes

this

and hutcherson put on 20 lbs of muscle to play peeta so he's not gonna be a lightweight to lift, with both his legs or not :o

Hutcherson is practically a midget...

Also, you guys believe he'll ACTUALLY be carrying those two?

not at all, but it should at least look plausible, no?

'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Adds E. Roger Mitchell as Chaff

E. Roger Mitchell will play Chaff in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” Lionsgate said on Friday.

Chaff was District 11’s tribute to the 45th annual Hunger Games, which he won despite losing his hand in the process. The six-foot-tall troublemaker refused to get a prosthetic arm but will still compete in the Quarter Quell, a competition that occurs every 25 years to celebrate the Capitol’s victory over the outlying districts.

Lionsgate’s upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ second book in “The Hunger Games” trilogy opens in theaters Nov. 22, 2013.

It begins with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) at home after winning the 74th Games. She is about to go on a victory tour with fellow victor Peeta Mellark as rebellion brews in the various districts. Meanwhile, the 75th Hunger Games (the Quarter Quell) are approaching.

Mitchell, an Atlanta-based actor, recently appeared in “Battle: Los Angeles” and on “One Tree Hill.”
