I got that it is meant to be jarring, but it is also a bit more random than I think even Collins intended. But other than that--and the fact that it felt like they downsized Harrelson, Kravitz and Banks as "Team Katniss" this go-round--this film was better than the first in nearly every way.
I really enjoyed this picture and think I may even see it again with some other friends next week. The best aspect is that while it is "another Games," the tributes have a very different mentality. This isn't about survival, it is about revenge. The look on Katniss and Peeta's face throughout, especially during the chariot sequence, is amazing. I also wish Jena Malone's character got more to do because, she was on that wavelength and then some.
BTW did anyone see it in full
IMAX? After seeing this and The Dark Knight Rises in 70mm, I am more than ever convinced that this is the superior format to 3D in every way. I really hope more action movies and blockbusters pursue this down the road.
