Wonder Woman on the way. Tried to do some cross-hatched shading then shrunk the size to enhance the blended effect. kept the bgrd pretty straight forward

I'd love to see a more moody gruesome version.

Yay! I was going to suggest a Wondy one. *goes off to color*

I have a huge Cap if anyone wants to give it a shot.Quite the challenge.

Spider-Man

is it alright if heroes aren't repeated till they have all been covered, i know you are probably doing it to vary on the artists up on the boards rather than the heroes they draw but not sure how enthusiastic people are going to be about colouring in the same heroes all the time.

Well I was bored so I thought I would give Spidey a go:

I move around between the orange and red until I find a good brown color. Then I lighten it up to the appropriate skintone.

I sorta just play around and experiment. I usually start with a very light yellow as a base layer. Then, depending on the pic multiply on top all sorts of colours usually fairly light Iput up some thumbnails of WWoman process

So I thought I'd give a breakdown of my approach to Skin colour. Not gospel by any means.
Basically in this example I have 3 multiplied layers. I wanted to give her a slightly tanned/Mediterranian look.

first blocked base --------------------------Then the tones (not a straight up grey)

Which gives me this-------------------------I then put this on top to warm it up

Final result

sorry about taking up so much space with the example. i thought the visuals would be helpful. experimenting is key. try different colours and shades

i totally agree, it just felt like the more popular characters had more user involvement than not so popular characters.

i had planned on posting a vision this week, but wasn't sure how it'd take. now i know i'll be posting that next week, along with a Hellboy suggested by a user here!

oh and Dansker, thanks for the skin tutorial, i saved that so that i can try and practice one day

I do something similar... though I also play with the layer options, like color dodge and overlay. Everyone, play with the layer options! It's fun. Also, I like your shading on the background for the wonderwoman pic! I was having trouble with that...

nice job Banquet. really digging the glow of the lasso
