Pfft I remember the reveal of the first Ledger Joker picture and the reaction was anything but tiny.

Well, according to some this reaction in no way shape or form is the same. This time it's different in some substantial way. The thing is, it's not the fan reaction that matters, at least not the long time/hard core fan's reaction. It's the general audience. They'll make the look sink or swim, or at least they are half the equation, along with Leto's actual performance.

It's just so... it's so damned cliche'. I get that we are a passionate lot. I get that our attachments to these genre creations is basically emotional. But it seems sometimes that the only interaction fans want is one of conflict.

And after decades of fan meltdowns that they still think they can influence production choices after the fact with their tantrums is just sad.

If the director or production designers want to give the Joker tattoos he will have tats and no amount of kicking and screaming by fans will change that. We don't have to like every decision, but we have to move on. Joker has tats. We'll survive. The character will survive. A lot longer than WB's DCCU likely will.

How many of these early on-set hissy fits end up being accurate anyway? It seems like either people spew hate and the product ends up making them look stupid, or we don't react in extreme ways and the final product shows that maybe we should've.

So, my buddy dropped these on me today. I share them now with you. What I find really funny is that they play like the parodies of the trailers for such movies... except that these are the actual trailers for these films.

Force Five:[YT]U4ZOkZsjyYI[/YT]

Five in number... In Force, like an army! I see Robert Clouse directed these and think he must have been trying to recreate that Enter The Dragon success. These really are some legendary martial artists... but MAN. :whatever:

Eliminators:[YT]U5Jg8SWzaZY[/YT]

I remember seeing the trailer as a kid and really wanting to see this. But you know what... I never saw it and now I really don't want to simply because the actual film could never be as awesome as the one in my head! Oh, and... I always wanted to be the best in the field of Mandroidism. :sly:

For the new page... Cuz it's hilarious stuff.

Awful news about Nepal. Almost the entire historic district in Kathmandu was destroyed by the quake. The true scope of the damage is coming to light and it's really bad. As well as this the death toll is at 2,000 and rising, including 20 hikers on Mt Everest. This is a true tragedy.

It's frightening to think of the loss of life that occurs with some of these natural disasters.

This is the first I'm hearing about this. It's horrible.:( I hope the U.S. or UN is dispatching aid and volunteers asap!

Edit: One of the hikers on Everest was a Google executive Dan Fredinburg.

Tragic news indeed. You've ever been there Triple J?

Nope, but I have a friend who is backpacking around there. She's probably fine, but we're still trying to confirm through Facebook. I would love to go though. For the history and culture; I'll skip the mountain climbing though.

Yeah, hope your friend is OK, I'm concerned about potential damage from aftershocks.

Ya I read about that yesterday, that really sucks. Mother Nature can really f*** stuff up when she wants to

Bomanz went out like a boss.

Do we have any instances of fan reaction influencing production? The only one that comes to mind was Venom's presence in SM3; after SM2 there was some groundswell for Venom as a villain.

Two Ways You Can Join Nepal's Earthquake Relief Effort From a Computer

There are a few important ways you can contribute to the Nepal earthquake relief effort from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Mapping Relief Routes

If you’ve got a keen eye and a bit of patience, consider aiding the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) in their effort to trace disaster relief routes. HOT is a web-based organization that applies principles of open source and open data sharing for humanitarian purposes. In response to yesterday’s earthquake, HOT is still in the early stages of mapping roads into remote mountainous regions, and they need all the help they can get. These roads are going to be critical in days ahead, as ground-based rescue and relief efforts work to navigate the rugged terrain.

The best place to get up-to-date information about HOT’s response is via the HOT 2015 Nepal Earthquake wiki coordination page. Here you can find mapping tasks that are currently in progress, select a region, and start tracing routes yourself.

Supporting Disaster Through PayPal

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a per capita income of $62.50 a month, according to the World Bank. There are a number of different humanitarian aid groups, including World Vision, American Red Cross and UNICEF, that have mobilized to accept disaster donations toward disaster relief.

Now, PayPal has stepped forward to streamline the process even further, allowing you to give any amount you choose to one of 11 charitable organizations. PayPal is covering all costs associated with these donations, ensuring that 100 percent of your contribution will be sent to the organization of your choosing via the PayPal Giving Fund.

The magnitude 7.8 quake that rocked Nepal late Saturday morning was the largest in over 80 years. As of this morning, there were over 2,000 reported casualties, according to a rolling report by The Guardian. Hundreds more may still remain trapped under piles of rubble.

If your feeling altruistic here is how you can help, just click the relevant hotlink

Deej, what's that site that has different shirts every day? Are those from the site?

I've heard of a few places that do that but no it's not from one of those sites. I get all my shirts from www.etsy.com they have so many awesome things on there. It also has a lot more than just shirts too. I can seriously get lost for hours finding cool stuff to buy on there

Yeah, these things make me sad. Life is so fragile. :(

With Ledger I think there was a backlash against the actor. Here the casting of Leto seemed to be met reasonably positively but they're obviously taking a lot more risks with that look.

I'm going to make a new all vocal mix, I feel like creating something beautiful

I'm reading old Spider-Man comics. Good times. :)
