The Incredible Hulk BTS Featurette

I was watching the featurette again.....and noticed at the very beginning they showed the cover to one of my favorite Hulk comics, TIH issue #393. This book features an analysis detailing the psychology of Banner, and what he and all the Hulks represent. This was mint.

I wonder if the producers of this movie read the issue?

I would say they have and it belongs to Kevin Feige.

I really doubt that. Considering they we're pushing Return of the Monster and the other Alonso/Jones crap comics with no Hulk and every character was screwed up, leads me to believe they dont read the Hulk comics they push on the writers and produsers.

That comic was probably just a piece of clip art, no reason behind it.

Hell, even John Byrne has one coming out in July.

Yikes. Will that be followed by the "Hulk Visionaries: Bruce Jones" and "Hulk's Greatest Defeats featuring Joe Casey's snake, Batman, Spider-Man's truck, and Cain Marko in street clothes"?

You didn't like John Byrne's first run? I didn't care that he had Hulk punch a deer but he did some interesting things.

I used to be a John Byrne fan. Then I was unfortunate to interact with him online on some Hulk BBoards around 98 when he was doing his 2nd Hulk run (y'know, where he repeated the same story for 4 issues), noted my criticism, and he pretty much told me to go F myself, and I was mobbed by his trollish followers who attacked anyone who said ANYTHING negative about the guys work.

The Bruce Jones stuff has already been compiled in hard cover and trades...but they have had the good sense to not label them in the "Visionaries" series.

I agree. Byrne's first run was very short lived but pretty good actually. He's the one that married Bruce and Betty. If I didn't have the original issues, I would pick up that trade. It's a good read, and his art is always solid. In fact, I'd say Byrne is probably one of the most versatile artist ever, along with George Perez.
I never read his second attempt but I heard very bad things.

I have heard Byrne has a VERY bad attitude...and not just from fans. I heard he didn't get along with a lot of people in the industry.

Your 'unfortunate to interact with him' comment made me laugh.

I'm sure you were being your normal jovial self.:yay: Some of his faithful followers are of the worse kind.

His second run on Hulk sucked like hungry pups on +!+$.

He really, really rubbed me the wrong way. I was actually inspired by his writing and art growing up, and I heard things about him before, but the way he came after me and other Hulk fan's who we're just tired after 3 issues of the same damn story, was really pi$$y. We we're not being jerks, we just wanted to know if the story was going to move along at that point.

This happened on the Alvero and marvel bulletin boards ages ago. I think some of you may have posted there around that time as well.

I feel your pain as I know John can be an ass wipe. After I graduated from Art and Design in NY, I asked for a recommendation letter to work for Marvel as a penciler. Byrne was giving some speech on working for Marvel and was rude to alot of people wo didnt ask the write questions or challenged him on his work. I enjoyed his work back during his x-men rand aplha flight run which was some of his best work. I did not like his writing which is his weakness. At his peak artist wise, Chris Claremont was the writer and Terry Austin was the inker. As a trio, they were amazing. On his own, he lacked real substance and was redundant which explains part of your experience with his work.

John, from I've read, seems to bevery argumentative and defensive of his work.

Simply put, this guy is washed up because of his ego, and not really worth more discussion in this thread.
