one of the best scenes is the last scene where hulk has two cars in hes hands. i think this is a really really really good render.

Agreed. If everything matched that shot there'd be no basis for critcism but we'd still get it.

its not that simple. you can not change the skin color and say that this is how he would look with normal skin color.
i see green parts in the dark shadows. this should have been dark bright red. the SSS effect.

This I know–I do 3D, I work with ZBrush 3.1, LightWave, Modo, Maya... this was just a "quick" job. And the only way for me to get hold of their SSS is to actually have the shader settings/language AND scene file including the Model for the Hulk. This I do not have, only a low resolution screen capture :/ Apologies.

By the way, I commend R&H on the CG. It's not easy. These guys in the industry easily pull 70+ hours a week, and when it comes down to crunch time (period just before film is released to public) 112 hours a week etc.

Don't worry boogles I thought it was a good attempt, nice work.

don't worry about it BOOGLES1, it's not like certain people harping about FX could appreciate it. I mean, you even made the eyes a more muted Human color in your pic.

The effects looks great. I almost pitty those who bash these last shots. Because there is not much out there to like then.

This is going to be a great movie when it comes to effects, I have little doubt about that. For those who lack the ability to like it, well it's your loss. I can smile, you can stay grumpy. It smells like victory for me and all who likes it then :P

This is going to be a great summer. First the great Iron Man, and then the great Indy-movie. And Hulk looks incredible and The Dark Knight looks even better then Batman Begins.

And I think Hulk will be best when it comes to effects. Certainly looks that way :)

I dont have any 3d programs (nor would know how to use one for this if I did) but I do know how to fiddle about with colors in photoshop. Here's a quick 'pink' skin job on the Hulk.

HulkHTone1.jpg

Rather than directly remove or alter the green to flesh tones using color balance and hue/saturation, I used a couple of seperate layers to add color here an there as well to try and give the skin tone a more 'natural' look (directly altering the color on it's own does not work too well).
With a bit more tweaking it could look better but I think you get the idea.

Definitely looking forward to this movie...for the VFX if anything...Its gonna be this year's version of The Transformers.

thats sweet, but its also creepy i couldnt imagine if the hulk just stayed the same skin color that would look so weird

Lets see, big and angry...normal human skin tone...trashes everything in sight...

Sounds like my dad.

The Hulk has always been green (and grey) so I have no idea why energy is being expended to make him have flesh tone skin.

It is to show that the CGI for this movie is great, the Hulk does look real but the green colour just makes the CGI a little unbeliveable as we do not have green men walking around. Now when the green is removed and a flesh tone is added, it shows how realistic Hulk actually looks and because there are people walking around with a similar skin colour it is much more easier to believe it is real.

And nice work to wobbly and Boogles.

Nice to hear positive stuff from a person that actually uses cg programs like boogles and a talented photoshopper like wobbly. In wobbly's image, the pink skin tone really does hammer home the realism of that cgi shot.

But there will still be some who will say it is poor CGI. :whatever:

opinion. maybe not video game CGI or the worst CGI. but if someone says it is poor CGI for that kind of money in 2008 i think it is a fair opinion.

Norton singing in Death To Smoochy: "But my Step-Dad's not mean he's just adjusting......"

Given the level of improvment seen from the trailer to the tv spots I think it's fair to reserve summary judgement until everyone's seen the final product. After June 13 critical opinions of the CGI will carry much more weight.

Yes it is an opinion but some bash the CGI without any reason. It is as if they know the CGI is great but do not want to admit and will continue to say bad things about it as they have been saying for a long time despite seeing dramatic improvements.

its may and this is a forum. deal with it. you will have opinions from people that comment on the CGI from the trailer.

again this is a message board.

Why does the poll in this thread not list Leterrier's Hulk design? That's the one I'd vote for.

I think the origin of the poll was to do with where the biggest influences came from for the new hulks design.

I wonder if the cgi for this movie will be put up for any awards, if the whole movie looks consistantly as good as the cgi in the tv spots I can definately see it happening.

If anything from this movie is nominated for an award and TIH doesn't win the award then I think it will be a great achievement despite only being nominated.
