Yeah, I know. I just can't believe that he thinks that since he is going to film school, he is the expert on all things film good and bad and is so much smarter than the rest of us mental midgets. Have you guys not seen the "confrontation" clip? Lets put an end to this CG debate. We're all sold, and some of us are just pretending so they can shock us later when they see the movie and say "I changed my mind". Has to be. Cuz i can't see what's there to debate at this point now that we've seen each clip get better and better.

In the quote above Godman referred to 80's special effects as Animatics. Which make no sense since Animatics are a basic CG animation used to gauge and place certain CG fx shots. Dont listen to people critique special effects like they are some expert when they cant get terminology on techniques right. And this guy is his own worst enemy.

just to play devil's advocate here but you are wrong. animatics have been around forever. lucasfilm has been using animatics as elaborate storyboards since at least return of the jedi. havent you evr seen the homemade video of the speeder bike chase?

animantics can refer to any simplified pre blocking or staging of shots in motion.

I'm a storyboard artist...

Animatics have been there waaaaaaay before CGI. 3D animatics maybe not, but they've been using toys and stop motion to also get the point accross in storyboard phase

The clip didn't show too much of the Hulk. Too many objects in the way from the angles that the director has given, but I will admit that the night time shots are better. The only thing I see though as my main problem is not just to be shallow and say the CGI sux, but it's really the fact that the anatomy or maybe muscles seeping through the skin is off putting. I think that's what makes it un realistic looking to me. His muscle structure doesn't favor that of a Human and after all that is what hulk still supposed to look like. A big muscular Human.

No, I don't consider you a troll, I just think you are someone who thinks you are way smarter than us and need to tell us what is and is not a good movie and what CGI looks good and bad even though I have two eyes for myself. That's all.

Who says Hulk's supposed to simply look like a big muscular human when for decades he hasn't in the comics? I hope you're not confusing the TV show with what Hulk's supposed to look like. His proportions have always been exaggerated since his first appearance. No human can have proportions like that. And take a look at that confrontation clip again, there's definitely enough Hulk in there for you to gauge the quality of CG. And I agree he looks better at night, but I think he looks fine in the day too. Ang's had better daytime LT's has better night (from what we can tell so far), either way we're getting an incredible design for the Incredible Hulk.

I mean this isn't even the most exaggerated Hulk but from his first issue look at his hands in relation to his head. Each of his shoulders are practically bigger than his head. The artists over the years have intentionally made Hulk more monstrous than standard human proportions and musculature so it only makes sense the film makers would follow suit. If he was supposed to be just a tall strong guy he'd look more like...

I stand corrected. Only the CGI hasn't even got the anatomy looking right even for the likes of the HULK
