WOW. I saw the movie last night for a second time. Now, the 1st time I saw it I had to see it close to the screen. And maybe being overwhelmed by the size of the screen and being so close, I thought the CGI was great. Last night I sat at normal seat level, and the CGI was ****ing horrificly bad. Especially the scene when the supposedly 1500 lbs Hulk is gliding on a stream in the forest. God, the CGI is significantly worse to ILM's effort from 5 friggin years ago.

Within time it will be more better, it well be remade in later years. So I have nothing bad to say about the CGI. I like the storyline.

huh???

'03 = better muscle/skin fidelity by a long shot, and better skin rendering
'08 = better hair, head, color and overall body shape

animation was a push for me, both had great animation

I'll agree with you on everything except for the 08' having a better body shape. Proportionately, 03 was more feasible to exist in the real world, whereas 08 had broader shoulders and less of a barrelled torso: something 03 did have.

I also like the fact that besides the science on how 03 came to exist, the fact that the producers also took it a step even further and went into how 03 could exist in the real world at the size that he is, shows that they wanted to do it right. The effort put into the 08 Hulk was more or less to appease fans.

That part made me mad lol. Like there was no water disturbance AT ALL.

Ok for the non logical thinkers who read the surface and not the depth...He meant closest to our reality to make us see plausibility than fantasy.

I certainly hope you're not the type of diehard fan that would have been satisfied with a body builder instead of CGI, or a body suit like Hyde, in the "LOEG" just for sake of having a good story over effects... Or to spite the efforts of the 03 movie because it wasn't done the way "fans" wanted it.

**** fans and just make a good adaptation based on source material.

Lol, that damn stream again. This topic got 3 or 4 posts (and a Robocop!) a few pages back.

Hulk's feet, and a stream. :hehe:

ah that crap again.

That part made me mad lol. Like there was no water disturbance AT ALL.

you're wrong...from my posts a few pages back...

i just watched this scene again and you're wrong his feet do interact with the water. when he first lands the water splashes then as he walks he kinda shuffles the water with his feet. he's not stomping when he walks so you don't see big splashes but the water does move.

Weird, The first time I saw this movie I tougth the CGI wasnt as good as the 2003 one, but the second time I noticed it actually was waaaaay beter than the Ang Lee one.

That's because you are correct, and people saying otherwise are dead wrong.

It's not a matter of opinion. An opinion would be "I like Ang Lee's Hulk movie better because of blah blah blah". Fine. What movies you like better is a subjective thing.

But what CGI LOOKS better is relatively objective when we're considering REALISM. In the realism department, this version of Hulk blows away Ang Lee's Hulk. Anyone with two eyes can see it. The CGI is a vast improvement.

But some people think, "Well, I liked Ang Lee's movie better, so obviously that means the CGI is better in the 2003 movie."

These people most likely went into the new movie expectingthis to be true and deceived themselves. Personally, in real life, I have not heard a single person say the CGI for this movie was worse. Everyone pretty much recognizes the improved CGI over bouncing, rubber, neon green Ang-Hulk.

"But OMG Ang's skin looked so much better in close-ups!!!!1!1!"

No it didn't. People saying that are trying to nitpick ways in which Ang's CGI Hulk looked better, and none exist.

I'm sorry, but was the stream supposed to be 3 ft. deep or something? Most of the ones I've seen like that are a couple inces deep. And another one of those "why does it matter" critical things, if he's walking in a puddle in the rain, how much is it supposed to ripple?

Sheesh, nit picking a 2 second shot, really reaching there guys.
