jeez im not gonna say tih was the best movie ever made but its a million times better then angs, and i really liked angs for the most part.. i have come to the conclusion your either just trying to start something or your really picky to the point where u cant enjoy anything.. name some of the same type of movies that you really thought were great.. just wanna see what kind of taste you have.. the cg was not terrible not great but i could still just watch the movie and let go.. plus even if the hulk was ****ty, banner nailed it.. banner was the backbone of the movie and that part was really amazing, almost better then the hulk, in my opinion anyways..

Well Ang Lee has a career as a dominant intelligent movie maker, and is universally loved and respected by his peers. Louis Letterier is a ****** to who puts video game sequences on screen and says it's a film.

Being loved and respected by his peers does not equal a good movie. The first movie was an Ang Lee movie, not a Hulk movie. The second one was an Incredible Hulk movie directed by Louis. Just saw the movie for a third time this weekend and also saw the first Hulk movie on Sci-Fi a few days also. I will say that when you see the Hulk close up in the first movie, the CGI does look good but when you see more full body shots of the Hulk, it does not hold up as well, it looks rubbery and a lot more fake than the new movie.

His face reminds me of the vogons in the 2005 film The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I hate the face on that pic. It looks horrible.

Body is good though. (From what you can see)

the CGI was good enough. the best part from a technical standpoint was hulk in the rain. i dont remember if i ever saw a CGI character in close up when it rains.
the drops and everything had to be hard to render.i also noticed that they spend a lot time on the veins. they moved very good. plus muscle deformation.hair was also very good. i didnt expect so much motion . was very good.

the worst part IMO is the last hulk scene when he jumps on the buildings. the buildings were 100% fake. the worst buildings that i saw in the last 5 years.

The CGI in the movie was superb, loved the design of the Hulk. Other than the ones already posted, are there anymore unused concepts for the Hulk?

With the DVD/Blu-Ray already released in some places, the CGI quality can now be reviewed frame by frame if you will.

Just check out the CGI in this pic from the Blu-Ray

That is amazing CGI, no one can say that is poor.

And if you do think it is poor then just check out this quick colour fix that I did to give Hulk more caucasian skin. I know it isn't that good of a job (too much red) but it shows that the Hulk looks very realistic and it is the colour green that makes it so hard to make something look real.

To be honest, I never had any issues with the CGI of both movies, until I got the TIH DVD, in some scene's, the CGI is quite clearly not up to par. But this was the case with the '03 movie also.

This CGI is bad. The level of detail is so exaggerated that it looks fake. They try to show us every friggin' cell in his skin, and that's truly fake visually-wise.

In pics it can look half decent, but when he's moving, his skin looks like jelly. It's not consistent, nor solid looking.

well i dont agree with the skin characteristics. but it could be that it changes when he becomes hulk. maybe hulks skin is more shiny.

i just personal find it better if hulks skin was more like human skin.

Maybe the shiny skin is sweat?

yeah if the director says that its sweat i will unerstand it.
but i dont think it is sweat. he is sweating on hes fingers ? doubt it. its how they wrotte the shader for this hulk.

If you look at the skin on your knee when the leg is bent you'll see the skin becomes shiny and looks asif the skin is wet or greasy. Now I'm no expert but to me it seems this is because the skin on the knee is stretched to its maximum. Apply this to the hulk, because of his massive growth from banner to hulk and the fact he's like 100% muscle it could be that his whole skin is stretched, resulting in this shiny effect. Personally it didn't both me that much in the movie and I thought the cgi was top notch for the majority of the film.

thats a really good explanation.
hes skin is a little stretched since it also looks so thin on him and all the veins.

Does anyone have any really good screens of the Abomination from the movie?

Wow... and I know where that shot is from. When Betty and Banner visit Stern. This shot is from Stern's lab when Bruce undergoes his transformation as the Hulk.

This happens right as he begins to realize he's transforming back to Banner, hence the blue eyes.

I wish there were more concept art pics of the Abomination out somewhere. It still baffles me how they came up with such an awesome design.

Makes me look forward to the Leader's design that much more, or any other Hulk villain we see for that matter...

On a scale on 1-10, I would give the CGI about an 8 or 9 honestly. I loved the movie, I really did. I didn't go to see a movie about CGI, I went to see a Hulk movie and that is exactly what I got. The CGI did not distract me in the slightest.

The only time it distracted me was when I was amazed at how good it was. The cave scene has some of the best CGI I've seen to date. When the movie was announced, I was a bit concerned the CGI may not be on par or better than the 2003 Hulk, but it actually surpassed '03's.

I'll co-sign that statement.

You've basically summed up my feeling's on the CGI.
