there is no way that a young kid would think tha tthis looks cartoonish.
i dont remember when i was a kid that i complained about the backgrounds in burtons batman movies.they are fake. but when i was a kid the movie was amazing.

my son is obviously smarter and more sophisticated than you were at his age. apparently i was too because i thought that a good deal of batman '89 looked fake in 1989. im not crap talking, i mean it.

do you have kids? does anyone who talked crap about my comment have children? kids are incredibly sophisticated these days. if you are not raising one right now i will understand if you dont get it. or maybe its just my kid? i dont know but to everyone that is perfectly happy with clearly the unfinished shots/i] we have seen, im sorry my child is more discerning than you.

really.

:whatever:

My point exactly. Check this out.

which design is better is obviously going to be personal opinion. but the 2003 hulk looks much more photo realistic here.

In terms of design, the left, by far.

CGI realism? Right, by far.

That looks fake above but there is some guy who looks like that and it's real.

that is scary:wow:

i have 3 girls, and my eldest, who is 11, said she couldnt belive how good hulk looked. she said she loved how his muscles and viens were bursting out of his skin. my second eldest, 6, thought he looked in her words "like a real hulk!" and my baby, 15 months, claimed that the cgi looked fake, but she always goes againt the crowd! but seriously my girls loved it as much as i did.

If the girls say it looks good, then that means kids will believe its real enough. They are more open minded than adults cause kids say what ever is on their minds and are blunt about it. Thank you ladies.

I haven't posted in years, but I thought I would jump in on this one. IMO, Ang's Hulk looked detailed as far as the cgi goes. My problem with him was that he looked almost what I would describe as too kid friendly. To me he looked too cartoonish, and way too tall. From what we have seen of the new Hulk, he looks much more akin to the Hulk we know from the comic books. I like that he looks leaner, and like he wants to rip you a new *******. Im interested to see the finished product come June.

be sure to tell your daughters the shots are unfinished.

i merely stated a fact. my son thinks the trailer looked shoody. thats awesome that your kids liked it, although the middle child may be too young for the movie, my son was unimpressed. i guess that is what happens when you raise a child to be fluent in pop culture like superheroes and superhero movies. i guess he's jaded. i will admit he is smart as a whip and not much escapes him.

he says the hulk moved like a cartoon, edward norton looked fake when he fell out of the plane, and the abomination looked "really fake". he loves the design of abom, btw, he just thinks it looks like not great effects.

i would like to remind everyone that the shots are clearly not 100% yet so why is everyone so suprised that they dont look 100% and some are simply addressing that?

[miller]"what are you all ******ed?

are you dense?

the shots are goddammned unfinished!" [/miller]

Everyone does. I think it will stand alone from anything we have seen.

nah dude, both girls will be coming first session to see this with me! acacia, the 6 yr old, has been a hulk lover since birth....not that i had any influence:oldrazz:. i took sonya, 11, to see hulk first session, and the only thing she hated was not seeing hulk from the start. both of them have seen every spiderman, superman and batman movies. they also are wanting to see hell boy 2.

it is unfinished CGI in the trailer:cmad::cmad::word:
lemmie guess you havn't been reading around theese hulk threads much have you?

It's my opinion that, if you don't have the complete CGI work, do not show it.

The impression about Hulk's face is awful, his colour is dirty, his muscles exaggerated hypertrophy.

You may like it, no prob. :cwink: But I liked Lee's version better. Much better.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the green eye thing they got from the series. That is a must. And Norton will be a much better Banner, doubtlessly.

But Hulk. Oh well...

Why not show the unfinished CGI? It shows where they're at & lets us know what they need to work on. This Hulk looks great, end of story.....I guess.

:whatever:

Nuff said.

Obi-Ron, are you nuts? This was 1977 for Gawd's sake! What's the comparison about?

And no: the CGI in this present Hulk feature is lame, and I hope we get something much improved next time. :oldrazz:

Because we all know the Hulk is always drawn the same way in the comics:

Oh wait...

this is why i think comic movies should all be like tmnt, totally cgi. like the short iron man clips shown on the marvel site. we would never question the realism if the whole world was fake as well as the characters.

this is the worst idea i have ever read. :csad:

Yeah, because The Incredibles wasn't worlds better and had the heart that was missing from Fantastic Four.

He is onto something, and personally I think thats the inevitable direction to go. If not all CG, hyber stylized like Sky Captain, Sin City, 300, Hudsucker Proxy, ect.

Before it became hip to slam them, the Tim Burton style superhero flicks that came in the early 90's (Dick Tracy, The Shadow, The Phantom) made a good chunk of change and filled seats. Dont ever forget that.

lets not compare the incredibles with fantasic four because its a rediculous comparison. FF isnt even a good movie and the incredibles is a masterpiece.

and you can have the shadow and the phantom. they were both horrible movies and for them to share a sentence with tim burton is an insult to the man. what does this have to do with the op anyway? im just saying that i love my live action comic book movies and to suggest they should all be animated by computer no less seems like a bad, bad idea.:whatever:

i will keep my batman begins, hulk, ghost world, road to perdition, spiderman 1 and 2, the crow, american splendor, history of violence, superman the movie, xmen, batman '89, batman returns, v for vendetta and dick tracy.

not to mention someday the incredible hulk, iron man, the dark knight, golden army, watchmen, black hole, y:the last man, the avengers, wonder women, batman begins 3....

going completely cg is stupid, being real is what makes these movies awesome, seeing our favorite heroes and villain live on screen not drawn up like they've been for years. cg works at times but for a whole movie completely done is bad move

And this is exactly what I wanted to say. Alot of fans want to see their favorite heroes and villains made flesh up there on the movie screen.

It's to bad the cartoon "The Spectacular Spider-man" is leagues better than the Spider-man films... :o

Really I don't want to see them all go CG or cartoon, but man, seeing these characters "come to life" for some reason lacks the charm they have on the pages (usually...most of the time.)

I am not saying they are bad movies, theres just a certain charm thats gone.

I don't really get to read the comics as often as I'd like to but I love to see superhero get movies & to see them come to life.

Are you guys comparing the finished product with the trailer because that is unfair. To be fair, compare the Hulk trailer with the Ang Lee trailer. By the way, I am a fan of the Ang Lee movie but really to compare the two at this stage is not right.

The trailer does make it look cartoonish but the screenshot and the movements give me a much better impression.

I disagree with you about your estimate of the first two Spider-man films. The third however I'm on the fence with.

I speak to the charm of the character, to the feeling of Spider-man so to say. Not the quality of the films.

I enjoyed all 3 films to vastly varying extents, but really, they just don't scream Spider-man to me.
