Hey... I play more videogames than anyone on this board! And I am blown away by the effects in TIH, Speed Racer, and IM!! I can't wait to see them in motion.

The way I see it is... we're not in the 80's or 90's anymore, unless you really really really drop the ball and make the CG look like something that came out in the late 80's all highly pixelated and polygonal... you've impressed me. Every bit of these effects look real enough. People really do feel they are entitled to quite a bit.

How do you know you play more games than anyone on this board? Are you living everyone's life? :o

Surprisingly... yes :wow:

:oldrazz: All I meant was I am a bigger gamer than most here probably. I spend more of my time being a game snob and a casual movie watcher instead of the other way around.

I was just joking there....in a way.

But I'd say I'm a pretty big gamer as well, I spend a lot of time playing video games when I have free time. If I'm not playing video games I'm either on here or on the phone.

same here, actually when I am on the phone talking to my woman I bought a blue tooth head set so I can play games as then as well! Haha!

I don't have blue tooth but I want to get one so I can confuse people if they think I'm talking to them.

I can't imagine why ANYONE wouldn't think this CGI isn't better??? Maybe an ILM nerd or something but from an artistic perspective and an anatomical/technical perspective it seems to be superior CGI then 03' HULK... Which I did like.

as an artist that has experience in anatomy and 3D modeling/animation, i can confidently say that ILM has done a better job at making the Hulk blend into his surroundings SO FAR. i would say that the things the new Hulk has improved upon is that he's more toned and his body isn't so puffy...but other than that, i actually prefer Ang Lee's Hulk from an artistic, anatomical, and technical perspective. not necessarily a writer's perspective though...

:lmao: in public I think people are always talking to themselves until I see it hanging off of their ears!

Then if I'm walking behind someone I could say something like "Yeah b**ch!" & they might think I'm talking to them when I'm on the phone but in reality I am talking about them. Genius? I know.

In my opinion Hulk and Abomination just look like rubber dolls moving around.

YOU HAVE TOO MUCH SPARE TIME,:o:oldrazz:(PUTS ON HIS BLUE TOOTH HEADSET)!!!:oldrazz::D:D:D

i like that letterier said this:

" [We released the trailer quite late because] no shots are finished yet. That’s why we took so long to release the teaser, because unlike the other movies coming out this summer, our main character relies on so much calculation and technique. None of the shots in this trailer are finished shots, but I think it’s decent enough and it shows the audience what we’re going for. There’s a different version of the teaser that will only be shown in movie theatres where you see a close-up of the Hulk’s face as he comes out of the darkness and cries to [Betty]. A full close-up, like full-screen. And until we had that shot right I didn’t want to release it. That’s why it took so long for us…I never saw that Superbowl spot [that drew criticism of Ang Lee’s film for showing Hulk unfinished]. I’ve asked for it and they’ve said, “No, no, you don’t want to see that.” (Laughs) Anyway, I would have never allowed anything to come out that I wasn’t happy with."

so, none of the cgi is finished... phew! honestly, though, the cgi is well designed, but the textures are just waaaay off, and very plastic/rubber looking. i'm so glad that they're not done with it yet.

I agree. As a designer, ILM's rendering appears far more superior. But we are only basing this off of a FEW shots of the '08 Hulk. and they are at night. I'll reserve final judgement until i see shots of Hulk in broad daylight.

Even still, the scene in Hulk '03 when Hulk pics up the gamma sphere and throws it; in fact the entire 'first Hulk out sequence' in the Ang film , when Hulk looks up at the camera and screams; that was in the dark, and looked really fake and cartoony. So, maybe perfecting green skin rendering with shadows and low light is still a universal CGI technical problem?

I say it's a green skin problem because Abomination's rendering looked fine.

Thank God! I was going to **** all over this movie, lol.

I say it's a green skin problem because Abomination's rendering looked fine.

I don't know, he also said Abominations skin was green but see through, hence he looked brown from the flames.

If anything I'd have to say they are still working on Hulk and are just farther along with Abomination. After all he's a more complex design, they may have worked longer and harder putting Abomination together.

I never realized it before, but Ang's Hulk reminds me of Brock Lesnar.

lesnar_b.jpg

I see the resemblance. It's funny that you mention Lesner, when the Hulk first emerges from the ground rubble, it looks like he does a slight shoulder throw that Goldberg used to do while walking to the canvas before a match.

I like what he said with the description of Abomination. It makes sense and looks better for having a reason why his spine is out and you can see his ribcage. I can't wait to see the 26 min fight scene. I wanna see a human get flicked like in Transformers

Megatron: Distgusting! flicks the person away with one finger. :D
I used to do that all the time in Ultimate Destruction game, I'd grab a person, set them down and Hulk would tap their head like a dog and then I'd flick them 50 ft away with one finger. LMAO

As much as i'd like to believe that Hulk is still being worked on, i just think it's wishful thinking on our part, and what we see is what we'll get:

1)I doubt they'd risk, yet again, releasing a trailer with unfinished CGI. They have too much riding on this film working this time; they can't re-boot it again.

2) This was the same wishful thinking we heard from everyone with films like Spiderman; "The cgi will look better in the final film, blah, blah, blah". Unless i hear it straight from the directors mouth, i'm not buying it.

With nearly 3 months left I can definately see them still working on the CGI.

:whatever: So Louis was probably lying when he said there were no final vfx shots in the trailer. C'mon Golgo.

He has a point. Time and time again people have seen problems in trailers for unreleased movies and the response is always "it'll improve" and it is always the same when the movie is released. That said, Iron Man did improve the tank shot. But more often than not, the "it'll get better" excuse is nothing more than damage control. We'll just have to wait and see.

But I am basing my thinking off of the directors words, where he said they got the CGI just good enough to show what they were getting at. If you know me, you'll know I am not the type to grasp at straws, nor do I have any need to as I am not disappointed at all with how they look right now.

So straight from the horses mouth, they were just waiting for it to be DECENT enough.

He also mentions later he wanted to see the unfinished super bowl ad to see what the uproar was so he would not repeat the problem... but Marvel essentially said "No no, you don't need to see that."

^ Couldn't have said it better myself.

^ Kool. Wasn't aware of that.

More than just the Tank shot improved. Scratched in marks and dirt were spread on the suit, making Iron Man look more beat up in shots. It made him look less plastic, a drastic improvement.

I'd expect that if we see a new trailer with Iron Man of Hulk they'll be improved... if not that's how they'll look in the movie.

Got any examples of this?
