As far as which CGI is/was more realistic, IMO, TIH has some very large shoes to fill. ILM did an excellent job modeling the Hulk in 03. Even though some scenes weren't always perfect, I still rank 03 Hulk right up there with some of the best CGI characters of it's time and since, right along side Gollum of LOTR.

Having said all that, I really like the design of the new Hulk. I like the more leaner and meaner look with far less "baby fat" than what 03 Hulk had. LL has said that the CGI in the teaser is unfinished. I'll have to take his word for that....at least for now but to me it looks that even in an unfinished state, some of the detail is amazing..especially when the teaser is viewed in HD. I hope that the CGI in TIH is at least on par with 03 Hulk and maybe even surpasses it in some ways.

the 2003 Hulk is definitely more realistic. the muscle structure, the proportions, the skin...if he existed in the real world, that's how he would look. 2008 Hulk is much more stylized and extreme, less realistic. i'm not saying the 2003 Hulk is BETTER than the 2008 Hulk, but as far as PURE REALISM is concerned, 2003 Hulk takes the cake.

after all, we all know that if the Hulk REALLY wore jeans, they wouldn't stay on. ;)

ArtTeacher is unique, and because he is unique the world will not tolerate his existence!

Leterrier thinks the teaser have decent CGI. Let's hope he does have good definitions of what awesome CGI means.

i have 3 girls, and my eldest, who is 11, said she couldnt belive how good hulk looked. she said she loved how his muscles and viens were bursting out of his skin. my second eldest, 6, thought he looked in her words "like a real hulk!" and my baby, 15 months, claimed that the cgi looked fake, but she always goes againt the crowd! but seriously my girls loved it as much as i did.

She's only about a year old she doesn't know what she's talking about.:cmad:

That's exactly what I was going to say. I'm pretty sure a six year old doesn't know too much about how CGI should look or how the Hulk should look.

yeah but in a movie thats ridiculous

To my knowledge, the Hulk has never been drawn that big. His base height has always been seven feet and at the most he's probably been drawn to be about nine or ten feet tops, in the movie he was twelve feet in that scene and his final height was fifteen feet. I still don't mind the fact that the Hulk grew in the movie or that he was fifteen feet tall, it looked great. It's just that the movie as a whole could've been pulled off or handled a lot better than it was.

I find an eleven year old saying it more believable than a 6 year old or 15 month old baby.

In the prelude to planet hulk, when hulk is infront of the helicopter with Fury standing infront of him he looks about 12ft probably a bit more. Fury is shown to be tall in that book compared to other people then has hulk towering over him even though he's only kneeling down. In that whole issue he seemed much bigger than usual imo.

I was just stating that he's regularly seven feet and it's not too often where he's taller than seven ft.

Btw, anyone have any pictures of the Hulk from the comics? It doesn't matter, they can be from new or old comics.

You said he's never been drawn that big, so that's why I replied :cwink:.

He truly hasn't, you're assuming he was around 12 ft tall but ya don't have actual proof that he is, do ya?

Just look at the comic lol, do you have proof he's never been drawn that big? In his whole run, every incarnation, never been that big?

Eh, I shouldn't even respond to that. When have you seen a comic where Betty or another human barely comes up to his knees?

Well if we're taking all incarnations into consideration guilt hulk was around 60 foot tall lol.
