Hulk looks like he was created by still motion camera effects ala 'Clash of the Titans' and 'Sinbad'.

I used to love to animation like that. Has a certain class to it.

I do to. 'Clash' is one of my all time favs. But that type of F/X doesn't belong in 2008.

Remember the shot of Angs Hulk growling at Josh Lucas' character after he hulked out at the house? Well, i remember the very same argument going on about that shot, and the final shot actually looked alot WORSE (once they added the shadows to it) than the trailer shot of the close up of the 2003 Hulks face.

I heard so many stupid FX criticisms from the first movie, that they all just blend in.

But the stop motion references are kind of an odd complaint, since it wasn't still CG had some Stop motion guys (like Phil Tippet) get interested, that the technology really started to develop because they used alot of the same frame to frame animation tricks that saved rendering shots.

Bt one thing to think about. Both Hulks are the Hulk, but the human reference is the Actor playing Banner. Eric Bana's Hulk would definatly be a thicker frame Hulk than the look of the Hulk Norton would morph into.

I thought Lee Priest was the body reference for the 2003 movie hulk? I know they used Bana's face, but though Priest was the early body reference.

interesting skin texture. in no way like human skin. but i guess this is what they want.

How can anyone honestly think those shots (the close-ups) look bad. It looks so unbelievably real. He's even got stubble!

EXACTLY! There will probably be a few statements taken back after the release of the movie... At least if they're being honest with themselves.

The people working on the effects are there for a reason... I think they know what they're doing!:woot:

I really like tose pics except for the hair and the eyes.
I like the difference between the hair in this one as compared to the other for a few reasons. The 2003 version's hair was to short and looked as though he got a shape up at the barber, lol. It always appeared too dry unless it was wet. As far as the eyes are concerned, I kinda liked the idea of the "Hulk out" look when the metamorphasis takes place, but could have gone to green eyes (darker) when done. I guess they are going for the eerie look with the radiant green. I can live with that. Finally, the whole look of the Hulk to me was both good and ugh. Here's why: The Hulk is a massive creature, not just tall and muscular. Girth is what he is known for and here we get a more slender creature, ripped but slender. I would prefer a combo of both Hulks. I liked the shape of the first, but like the skin texture and ripped look of the second including the face, hair and eyes (the last looked too human and the Hulk is not). That is what we shouldve gotten. But, what I think is they felt the look of the comic book was a little too un-natural translated on screen or to comic booky. Me, I would just take a comic book rendering brought to life any day of the week. Hence, my idea of combing both 2003 and 2008 to create the perfect Hulk.

Some people just like to moan and will never be happy, even if you gave them an actual guy painted green they'd likely say it looks fake.

This HD shot has sealed my opinion on this hulks design, imo he's the perfect on-screen representation of the hulk. The hair imo doesn't look rubbery, it looks greasy, kind of like how you'd imagine someone's hair who has been living rough and on the run. The eyes, well I don't think the glow is a permenant thing, none of the shots in the first trailer showed glowing eyes that I remember, I think it might either be they glow right after transformation of when he gets really really peed off.

How the hell can you not dig the glowing eyes?

I do believe those pics get the Frostbite seal of approval. Thank god we finally got a good clean close up of that shot.

I personally do really like the eyes, I just don't think they'll be a continous thing.

Because it looks cartoony. People are allowed to have their own opinions.

Wow!

That CGI sure does look great! Leterrier didn't lie when he said the scenes in the trailer weren't finished but the close up is. I'm sure they will be adding more details to it and touching it up!

Skin texture, animation, etc... looks great!

Let the CGI comparisions commence!

You mean let the groundless complaining begin.
