Here's my ONLY comment for this thread, (hopefully i didn't post any other time!). We all know that the 2003 CGI Hulk looks better than his new 2008 counterpart, but as i've said before, after multiple views of the new full trailer you get over it. At least i did. Regardless, the CGI isn't going to stop me from seeing this film, and i hope that these minor technicalities won't be the reason why some of you won't fully enjoy what an amazing film this is going to be.

I hooked my laptop upto my big hdtv today and watched the trailer again. I have to say I really don't know what all the complaining is all about. Ang's hulk looks like a realistic big green man, the new hulk looks like a realistic big green monster.

it might be that it is this years transformers

on the small screen it is an utterly useless movie, but the theatrical viewing was one of the best i had ever seen

so then the hope is that the story is good so it can carry the pic on a small screen

i like transformers on the small screen also...

hulk is coming in with a emotional baggage. transformers was the first attempt of the show that was 20 years ago.

The one here is amazing, I don't know about yours. I like anything as close as I can get to you know, real freaking Mexican food. (Which is why I wish I still lived in San Antonio, where you simply crossed the border, and you got... you know... real freaking Mexican food. Which is like god's nectar on a plate for me.)

I can't even believe some people put Taco Bell in their mouths. It's probably one step up from dog food.

I guess Pablo's isn't that bad honestly. 'Cept for their watered down salsa, which taste like ketchup. Technically, Don Pablo's is Tex-Mex. I'm in Texas too and a big fan of good Tex-Mex.
I'm flying to Mexico in 2 days and kind of concerned because real Mexican food is a taco from a cart on the street corner. I'm prepared though. Check this out....."Donde esta el bano?" As long as I know that, I should be OK.

Anyway..."Hulk este verde, si?"....had to throw some Hulk talk into this post.

What I am disappointed by with BOTH digital Hulks that we have been given is the DESIGN. They are so boring and bland.

IF you are not going to use the greatest Hulk design of all time, the Kirby Ayres Hulk; at least use some one good like the Art Adams or the Lee Weeks version. The ones we have been dealt thus far just look like big, dumb body builders - nothing special or monstrous. At least the new one has the smaller nose pushed up closer to the brow, but the hair cut and the over muscled body just ruin it. Make the Hulk something special, give us the Kirby Hulk!

Oh I know it's Tex-Mex, I said I'll take as close as I can get to real. I am no longer in Texas I am in Michigan now, I was only there as a tiny boy, but I got addicted to Mexican / Tex-Mex while I was there!

Fortunately, my Don Pablo's has no watered down salsa, definitely chunky, and definitely hot as heck. mmmm

And by real I didn't mean taco from street cart, I meant home prepared stuff. I have a friend whom comes from there, I'd make her cook for me every day if I could :P.

The CGI Hulks have a long ways to go, But they're still very good.

They'll be even better by the time the Avengers movie releases.

An interesting post. I agree that we were a lot more lenient to rickety special effects in the oldun days. But we've been spoilt by the likes of Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, King Kong, Gollum, Davy Jones, Transformers etc. And then when something shoddy like Incredible Hulk comes along I think we have every right to throw a bit of a tantrum and say "hey, we know you can do better than this." I mean come on we're talking about a 150 million dollar major blockbuster; this is not a cheap Canadian made sci-fi TV special - if it were I might go a little easy on it.

That's not going to make or break a film for me; but arguably when the star of your film is a special effect...well he better be a damn good special effect.

thank you so very much, thats exactly how i feel.

Oh I suppose they were up to par with Davy as someone said with Mr. Hammer Head. It's just that their designs were so... uninspired. Where as in the first film each henchmen had not just a personality, but it came out just looking at them, which I didn't receive from Davy's henchmen.

I am very picky when it comes to art, I don't look so much at "how real" it looks, but how well it works for the character.

(in bold): Really? I'm no Pirates 2-3 fan, far from it in fact, but I felt the designs were awesome.

I agree with Frostbite, with the exception of davy himself I didn't care for the designs of the flying dutchman's crew.

Hammerhead guy! Seaweed dreadlock man! Urchin attached to the interior of the ship man!

Come on.

I agree.

It's much better both about the face depiction and the realistic effect of the CGI job.

It's a shame about the Leterrier version, that movie-wise may be the better one.

No contest: Ang Lee's version!

Perfect example of WHY the new HULK looks better... Even my wife who HATES this comic book/super hero stuff says it looks better!

You guys are trying SO hard to put down this new version, I still have yet to see any intelligence behind the strong feelings of disarray in the new version??? Not to mention the very poll on this thread is STRONGLY to the opinion of this new version being better.

Is it just that you guys are SOOO angry that ILM isn't doing this movie that you'll blast down any other company? I can't believe this thread still has life!!!

Well, I'm intelligent and I don't have any bias towards Rhythm & Hues so I guess that makes you wrong, HulkFish.

I still do not understand why we must compare the CGI of a finished product to that of an unfinished product. Get the screencaps and make comparisons after June 13!

And I think the only finished CGI we have seen is the Hulk close up at the end of the extended teaser, the car ripping scene from the new trailer and that still where Hulk seems to be punching down at something with red light shining on his face; that still is not from the trailer but was released by Universal.

Don't put words in my mouth Prefix, I didn't say anyone was unintelligent... I said that I saw no intelligence behind the point of view. Meaning no cold-hard facts of why the "rendering" was so superior in HULK 03'...

So if the belief is unintelligent, what does that say about those who have that belief?

And we are angry. You should strongly consider anger management. :oldrazz:

Look, I don't know anything about the whole lot of your rant, I was just pointing out that the Letterrier version (that I even said may end being the best one, movie-wise), is lacking in the CGI department.

I don't care who's making it, and I didn't even know it is the ILM.

Do look upon the two versions: Letterrier's one is an hypertrophy of muscles that look like marble in its reflections, not skin.

The green tone is too low, and the face is a bad Ferrigno exaggeration. The hair looks like a drawing, and not hair.

Etc.

I would love to say good things about it. I just can't.

Prefix - Back to my last post, I finished the statement... I'm not arguing or calling anyone stupid. I'm saying that there has been nothing more then opinion's hurled around saying how bad it is and "rendering" has become a buzz word with no meaning around here.

Mercurius - HULK is SUPPOSED to be all muscle... As for the rest of your opinion, I strongly disagree.

Agreed. Nor do I think it is a completely fair contest to compare technology dependant imagery from 5 years ago to the anything developed today.

A lot of what it comes down to is just personal preference.

No contest: Ang Lee's version!

On the new hulk the hair looks better and natural, the face structure looks better, the body dimensions look better, the only thing lacking in that pic is the skin which looks much better in the night time shots in the new trailer, that is the single thing why the cgi doesn't look perfect.

Agreed co2, that's just it...

Here's another BEAUTIFUL shot from the new movie. I LOVE THIS ONE!! It doesn't get any better then this is my VERY humblest of humble opinions or IMVHO....

Ok, if you disagree, then you disagree, that's fine. I won't be pointing my finger to you and ravaging your opinions out in a frenzy.

Muscles can be many different things.

Leterrier's is micro-exaggerated, totally hypertrophic, and that's not helping his monster to look more real.

That may be a problem when we see the Hulk among other things and people. The illusion can be easily broken, we may see a drawing.

Lee's, on the other hand, is very smooth and impressively realistic. I remember when i first saw that pic and went: "Wow, you can actually believe it exists".

Not the case now, and that's why this place is still going on about the issue.
