The JLBats Diary: The College Years

It's going to be a loooooong night.

Trust me, living a few years on the college scene, you're going to start to welcome having some **** to yourself.

Take off your top and walk down the hall.:o

I move-in tommorow!:)

Ugh.

I'm dumb, 'cause tonight was going good. I went to the first floor meeting, and my performer's instinct kicked in and everybody seemed to think I was awesome.

Then, because I'm ****ing brain-dead I skipped the first pep rally to walk around town and get harassed by hobos.

Now, I can hear everybody hanging out and talking in the halls, and I feel like I kind of missed the chance to solidify any friendships. Yeah. Really missed the boat here.

The night is young, you still got time to go out in the hall. But who knows tommorow I might get shy and end up hermitting in my room too. :(

It seems like pretty much everybody is really, really eager to latch onto somebody, so unless you're a totally unapproachable looking *****e like me, you'll probably be okay and somebody'll "We're new best friends!" you in like two seconds.

Dude, just go out and strike up a conversation. Or leave your door open, someone will pop thier head in.

See, everyone else is as lonely as you feel now, so guaranteed there is someone that wants to talk. The first week of a new school away is tough for everyone, so the instinct to reach out kicks in.

Actually, since I posted that, I went out, met like 6 other people and we walked to a convenience store and back.

This has been a minor happy ending by JLBats.

Don't do it!!!

Seriously, both of you: Participate in as many orientation/freshmen activities as possible

well... .all i can say is watch out for roomates, ive had 2 or 3 amazing ones, and 3 extremely horrible ones.

one guy was a control freak, he was almost 40! and acted like we were guests in his home... his student housing home! lol..

another was just gross, he didnt even know how to work a dishwasher.. and caused our apartment to become infested with bugs

and the last , well.. she was extremely cheap, *****y and nothing could be to her liking.. it was ridiculous.

I just showered for the first time and now I'm eating a can of Pringles for breakfast.

Surely, this is the sweet life.

BAHAHAHAHAHA.

Whoever changed the title of this thread is awesome.

Day 2: Some guy emerged from a bathroom stall and told me not to go in there "if I didn't want to die." It takes me 30 seconds to realize he's warning me about the smell he made and isn't threatening me in order to lay claim to the bathroom.

The JLBats diary. Bahahaha.

don't drop the soap!

College is a lot of fun. Live it up! Just don't **** around too much. Every choice you make now will effect every aspect of your life now. But all in all, live it up.

That was somewhat the thing turned me off of alcohol back in the day....I can go out with dudes and just chill at a club or bar, sip on a couple, but these characters that like to just turn it into a competition...nah.

Some of them never outgrow that. I have friends in their mid to late thirties that STILL want to play stupid drinking games. Dude....college was almost 20 years ago. Let it go.

Good luck on your new adventures, JLBats! This will be a great experience for you! Enjoy all of it, even the parts you hate! :)

I missed a lot, didn't I? :csad:

Hang in there Bats and Sapphire. :yay:

He's probably at the library studying his syllabus for Introduction to Introductions.

No!

BUT

I am having the quite literal time of my life.
I hope I spelled everything right in this post.
And wish everyone a merry Christmas before I return to full rez floor drunken Rock Band.

Peace out.
