Yeah, there's a reason why this show has received the rewards and acclaim that it has.

It's gotta be the best article I read about MNS. Maybe it wasn't talent at all.

All in all, MNS is and always has been a fluke.
Sixth Sense is probably the best fluke in the history of filmmaking. :funny:

I did like the last point of the article. I liked Sixth Sense and its holes still don't really bother me, but thinking more deeply about the hole that the article brings up, it does seem to be a twist for the sake of a twist. Shyamalan doesn't really say anything about the characters or the movie or anything deeper with that twist. It's just there to shock the audience and make them look closer at the movie's plot. But in the end, it's superficial.

It's nothing like the "holes" and self-circling dialogue in Inception, which many people seem to agree is a meta interpretation of what the film is saying about filmmaking.

I tried to get my sister to watch the show, she had something of a ignoramus attack and demanded it be shut off. She'd rather watch a outrageous sensationalist show like Nip/Tuck with hateful characters and ****** plotlines. People with poor taste choke on good material but are happy to eat up **** I guess.

I can't believe this is still an ongoing debate. The last Airbender was a cutesy little kids cartoon show that was adapted for film. What exactly were ppl expecting?

Im sorry but, you are a ****ing idiot.

cant be the only one who finds it funny movie azula and zuko look more like sokka and katara

this could of been our sokka and katara

No, you gotta picture the hairstyles..

Look at their faces first and then work backwards. Picture them with blue eyes too.. :p

How in the world are you seeing those pics and then think she looks anything like the blued eyed, teenage anime character?

I know people like to go on about the skin color, but both characters are drawn with Caucasian characteristics, characteristics which are in direct contrast with the other races represented in the show.

chiming in as a professional artist, i think she looks plenty like Katara. a hell of a lot more than Nicola does.

No, they just don't look anything like the characters.

I have plenty. Doesn't stop the actors from not looking like characters.

:huh::dry:

Nobody looks like anime or anime-esqe characters, it's physically improbable. Most people assume these characters are designed with Caucasian characteristics in mind and even mimic them. Show me someone with that much eyeball, in that shape, with that spacing and when you do, I'd say you'd found a freak.

I'd call him more than a fluke if not only because he made Unbreakable, which I contend is his best film. He has talent, but like George Lucas (and Frank Miller) before him when people responded to his talent with praise his ego inflated to a ridiculous and debilitating level. He thinks he's a genius, as evidenced by Lady in the Water and the book he wrote about it. The concerning difference between him and Lucas is that it took the latter about twenty years of not directing movies to convince himself he was top dog, with Shyamalan it's only taken a decade of steady work.

ew dude, sorry to be so blunt but if this is how you truly think then it shows your ignorance when it comes to the style of anime and anime inspired cartoons.

big eyes don't necessarily equal Caucasian features when it comes to cartoons. naturally, big eyes are more expressive and are more appealing than smaller eyes, which is why 95% of cartoon characters have them regardless of their ethnicity or background. you think EVERY anime character is Caucasian just because they have big eyes?? this is a feature used in the earliest anime that was inspired by the early Disney cartoons, especially Mickey Mouse. i suppose you think Bambi was supposed to be Caucasian as well?

unless it's a more realistically styled anime, or even cartoon IN GENERAL, characters will ALWAYS be drawn with big eyes simply because they're easier to show the characters' emotions with. PLEASE do some research before you go spouting more ignorance.

I wasn't too big on Unbreakable. I thought it was mediocre along with Signs. It wasn't as bad as his later films.

Just FYI, Nickelodeon is resuming syndication beginning with the very first 3 episodes tonight with Extras. The 2nd episode is on right now..

i'm watching it in nick toons right now...whats with the annoying water bubbles providing commentating on the show? lol

Annoying? I find them informative dammit!!

I picked up on a lot of things that I never would've noticed otherwise..
