Finally saw it, it wasn't as bad as people said, but compared with the series, it was weak. I don't mind the change in storylines, but the change in quality was just too much.

I plan to watch it tonight with my wife. My goal is to keep an open mind and watch it as someone who has never seen the show. (which is hard, since I have) :)

if by open mind you meen low expectations then you're all set!:yay:

2 deleted scenes are on youtube. the acting is bad. i mean bad bad.

Did anyone else notice the actors having ZERO idea what the hell they were even talking about in this film? And at some points you can tell they were forgetting their lines? I mean.....isn't that what different takes and editing is for? Gawd.

And I still think Dev Patel was the best actor in the film. The problem was they made his character too soft, I felt. I wanted more of a hot-tempered and furious Zuko. I think they portrayed him as someone who could easily switch sides in this film, which is a major weakness. I think the harder of a bad guy you introduce him, the bigger the journey his character goes through when it comes time to make that all-important choice.

Just piss poor directing really. That's why everyone's blaming M.Night.

saw it...didn't like it, at ALL. boring and generic as all hell with no spirit or personality. if this is M. Knight Shyamalan's idea of a fun kid's adventure, i feel sorry for his kids.

i feel sorry 4 kids in general. he might make more

The only way you'll get an open mind with this movie is when you feel your skull trying to split itself open so your brain can escape.

at least, if my experience is any indication

why isnt the kyoshi warriors scene in the blu-ray/dvd??

all 5 of the deleted scenes were horribly acted...

Paramount will not make a sequel... I believe the budget plus the advertisement/marketing for the film was around 280 M... (130M + 150M). It got 6% on rotten tomatoes. And the majority of the general audience hated it.
I'm sorry for those who have high hopes for it, but this is for the best. It is better to end this travesty before it grows any larger, destroying more like a virus... Believe it or not, those who see "the last airbender" will think that's how the animated series is... and that makes me sick. It's bad advertisement for the Legend of Korra series coming out. Even Bryan and Michael (creator of avatar) hated it. And I can see why, he raped their story. Literally... literally raped it. Fans should not be happy.

But the fact that it made 319 M worldwide does cause me distress.

p.s.:
its scary when you look at Ringer. he is young and a kid. but for the love of god he can not act. you watch the deleted scenes and you see how he is looking at the director, camera crew,.... .you see how he is thinking about the acting and hes lines.
Nicola Pelts is not different. she also couldnt keep it up with the acting.
