"Believe In Him." That's the shivering tagline for Lionsgate's forthcoming The Last Exorcism, which arrives in theaters August 27th from horror director-turned-producer Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) and Strike Entertainment. Directed by Daniel Stamm, the horror film is said to feature startling imagery, realistic in nature. A glimpse of this is portrayed in our exclusive debut of the official one sheet where a possessed girl experiences back-breaking pain. The poster is easily one of Lionsgate's most eye-catching to date. Dig on it below and tell us what you think! In addition, take a trip to the official Facebook page to check out the first exclusive image from the film coming soon.

New official synopsis:

"When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine "exorcism" on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus’ own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell – and themselves – before it is too late.

THE LAST EXORCISM is written by Huck Botko & Andrew Gurland and directed by Daniel Stamm. Strike Entertainment and STUDIOCANAL present an Arcade Pictures production.

Not sure if want. Didn't like any of the films other than the original.

This film was originally called Cotton ,before the name change.

I'll give this a chance.

I'm guessing cause the guy in the film is called Reverend Cotton Marcus.

But I'm sure that was just a working title, lot alot of films have sometimes.

I'll wait for a trailer. I've been burnt out on ghost and possesion films for awhile now.

I'm only interested in seeing this since Eli Roth is a producer. and unlike everyone else, I don't hate the guy with a unknown blind passion.

I hate him because he's a terrible film-maker

That's what gets me. I'm torn between my love for exorcism movies, and my hatred of Eli Roth.

Ugh. My hatred of Eli Roth and my love for Exorcism movies.

Looks good, to be honest.

It looks alot better then some pf those other fake doc movies.

I think you know which one I mean without saying it.

Yeah, I kind of don't know how I feel though.

I mean, it looks like a mix of standard filming and FPS filming.

I see alot of people calling it the Exorcism of Emily Rose Meets [REC] :awesome::hehe:

[Rec] is amazing! The sequel is ****ing brilliant too.

Good! :awesome:

Anyways, the trailer looks decent. Not sure how I feel about mixing the filming methods and I really wasn't "sold".

Interesting, looks like she takes hold of the camera at some point. I kind of like that idea.

Yeah, I saw that too. I really hope people don't think it's a PA ripoff.

It's inevitable, they're fairly close in subject matter, but I think it's been long enough that people wont simply write it off.
