The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

OMG

Stephen has got Trump. Sept 22 is going to be amazing.

Colbert is introducing a wonderful level of boundary-stretching absurdity to the 11:30 timeslot that leaves even Conan in the dust; I hope CBS allows him to continue. The closest equivalent I can think of is if Craig Ferguson was given an 11:30 show, but Colbert so far is even outdoing Craig in this manner.

Yeah I tape both his show and Fallons but I always watch Colbert's first ;).

Oh and I have to say the style of his opening credits is pretty damn awesome I love the guy tossing a basketball from one building to a guy at another building and having him shot it it into a basket and Steve dancing on the roof on another building.

this bit had me on the floor :funny:

I got to see that sketch a few weeks ago when I went to a test taping of the show. It was HILARIOUS. He also did the bit about the presidential candidates’ merchandise stores, and the “All Up in Your Faith” segment they did at last night’s show.

The other one he did, which is out of the news cycle now, was that video of Usain Bolt getting run over by a reporter on a Segway. He said it was the worst track accident since the 1936 Olympics, when Jesse Owens was run down by a reporter on a unicycle (and showed an obviously photoshopped photo). :funny:

Loving the show. He’s as good as ever, and thriving without the character.

I just got back from Colbert. That house band is tight. Jake G. and Stephen do a sort of sequel to Schumer's bit about renting from him. It was a lot of fun.

The Hungry for Power Games is going to be amazing this election.

what a sweet and touching segment with Carol Burnett and Kevin Spacey as Jimmy Stewart paying tribute to Carol... how priceless... what a class act the both of them are...

Stephen got Cruz to admit to disagreeing with Reagan. That had to hurt Cruz...

EDIT: Oh man, I'm loving unchained Colbert.

Have to agree. I adore this show and I feel Colbert is the new king of late night.

it almost got a bit dicey there for a moment with the audience starting to hiss at Cruz when Stephen confronted him on gay marriages... Stephen had to mildly warn off the audience to not boo his guest...

I respect him for that. You don't need the audience to make the guest even more defensive.

The Ted Cruz interview was great. He straight-up confronted Cruz about his Reagan adulation without being disrespectful.

that's why tonight's show is gonna be goooood... Stephen goes one-on-one with Trump...

Trump is tonight. Oh, I am so there.

I do love how Stephen didn't let up on Cruz, forcing him to admit he disagreed with Reagan. You know that had to hurt his conservative soul to admit that.

Exactly. He can’t have an atmosphere where these candidates don’t want to do this show.

That being said, it was a brilliant takedown of Cruz.

So far... Very tame. I'm waiting for a swerve like he pulled with Jeb with his own brother as a lead in to pulling the question about W.

Well it got better toward the end but that was definitely a lil' disappointing, imo.

I actually still enjoyed it and got some laughs. But it looked to me that Trump came out being kind of reserved. I get the feeling Trump decided to play it tame so Stephen had a harder time trying to skewer him.

Well it's kinda hard to throw jokes at a joke.
