I could have sworn they had a 700 meg size limit on them or something.
 
I can't wait. It's especially awesome how Sakaguchi is trying to make Lost Odyssey a world wide release WHILE still (trying) to release the demo for everyone else. And as far as I heard, Lost Odyssey was the most popular game at TGS.

XBLA has a file size limit, but demo's are just limited by the HDD. The 2nd Kameo demo is like 2gb's I think.

The story follows a character named Kain, sentenced to live for 1000 years. When we were playing through the demo, getting killed meant Kain automatically revived with a small fraction of his health. No menus or mini maps were available in the demo we played, so the heads up display was pretty bare. In a press briefing a little while after the show floor opened, Sakaguchi said two major gameplay elements were not included in the demo. In other words, the Lost Odyssey demo apparently doesn't give a very good representation of the whole thing.

Yeah, I think the character doesn't actually die in story terms. Maybe in the gameplay he does...? :ninja:
 
No, you can never see a gameover screen in this, the main character can't die, but the "side characters" actually can, and if they die I think they're gone forever, and you simply absorb their abilities. Only you and this other chick actually last the whole time :confused:

Also, the HD trailers for both this and Blue Dragon should be available on the Marketplace by Tomorrow. These are usually much faster downloads, and give a better idea of what the game will look like while being played, so good news :up:
 
I was a bit dissapointed with the videos I've seen. Part of me wonders if MS forced Sakaguchi to put out a demo. If so, I hope this hasn't hindered the development of this game. I hope it gets a better showing at X06. Only showing 1/3 of the combat (which still feels slow to me) wasn't worth it. I was happy to see it in action though.
