Lost Planet Will Rock!

FUNNY HOW YOU CAN MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT A GAME, WHEN YOU KNOW LITTLE ABOUT IT, AND HAVEN'T PLAYED THE DEMO. CURIOUS, THAT.

because you guys don't all bash nearly every ps3 game that's coming out, despite not having played a demo? that's laughable that you'd evven say that, when you ALL do the same thing on a daily basis.

you act like i came in here and said it's going to suck. i said, from what i've seen, i'm not impressed by it. geez, get over yourself.

and those screens in the first post aren't impressive at all. if that as something on the ps3 everyone would ***** and moan about muddy textures and bland colors and whatever else you all complain about.

and WHF, i'm really not a sony fanboy. you ought to pay attention instead of generalizing everyone that says something negative about an xbox game as a fanboy. i have plenty of negative comments about more than a few sony games, and i put them up regularly.

i just don't think this game looks good, is all.

Lots of reasons, but mainly...

I'm looking for a quieter, more calmed and relaxed life that Mexico or the US won't give me.
Asian girls.
Tampa Bay is much cooler than the cold Canada will ever be. EVER. Once in every few months I see the president ride in front of my car when he lands in TPA to go to the MacDill Air Force Base.

And it is very peaceful here, and a good number of Spanish-speakers. And even though it wasn't the best movie ever, Punisher was filmed here =)

The difference is that there is a demo available here, and not in the situations you mentioned. We expess an opinion formed after looking at all information currently available about the game. You didn't do the same, but hey, don't let that stop you from jumping on this "omg ur just as bad!1!!!!1" bandwagon with zenien and hippie hunter and a few others.

Or, the game actually looks pretty good, and because it's on the 360, you have decided to dislike it, which you have a long history of doing. But oh no, of course not. We make comments about Resistance or MGS4, games that aren't that visually impressive, so of course we'd hate this if it were on the PS3.

Yeah, that doesn't mean much. I hate plenty of 360 games, like that Madden garbage, and say so everytime I'm given a chance, but somehow I doubt anyone here will take that as evidence that I'm not a big MS fan. The entire time you've been here you've basically fallen in line with the Sony crowd and behaved exactly like any other sony fanboy, it's a little late to start pretending that you aren't amongst them now.

Back on topic, does anyone know what sort of DLC is planned, if any?

LOST PLANET Producer Jun Takeuchi recently spoke about LP at GC...

We will try to keep it as a 360 exclusive. But, from the company's point of view, when you think about the business, in the future it's something [port the game to PS3] we might have to do.

Not a big shock... CAPCOM seem to be pushing for multiplatform with almost everything they are making.

[I stole this post btw]

Certain things that Willy Santos failed to fix on his post

We will try to keep it as a 360 exclusive," Takeuchi said. "But, from the company's point of view, when you think about the business, in the future it's something [port the game to PS3] we might have to do."

If the Japanese market wants the title bad enough, it seems possible that there could be a Lost Planet on PS3 -- remember Resident Evil 4?

"We are minorities in Japan, we're one of the few 360 developers [from there], but we don't think that's a bad thing. We're trying to appeal to the worldwide audience; we hope that more Japanese publishers realize there are more markets outside of Japan."

The second quote is an interjection from 1UP itself...its something that they extrapolated. But Takeuchi's next comment appears rather different, as something that tries to reach out of Japan rather than go towards it. Takeuchi also didn't mention porting the game to the PS3 explicity...once again that's an interjection from 1UP. And RE4 didn't go to the PS2 because the Japanese wanted it...it was more because the PS2 installed base in the west was screaming for it.

It seems to me this is a classic example of how 1UP pushes the news. While I am not denying the possiblity of Lost Planet to go to the PS3, it won't be a move for the PS3 alone. It is said that Capcom is currently developing games with the use of PCs then later on tweaking it for a console.

If Lost Planet goes to other platforms it will be because of 2 things...installed base and a global market. I'm willing to be that the most likely candidate for a Lost Planet port will be the PC much more than the PS3 which at the onset will have a measley installed base compared to both PCs and XBOX 360s. The sheer number of PC users alone dwarf whatever numbers the XBOX 360 or even the PS2 may have.

I see Capcom trying to enter the PC space...games like Onimusha and DMC are now on the PC. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dead Rising and Lost Planet to follow and those 2 games can compete with the western developers in terms of quality (not just some cheap Japanese rehash). I'm willing to bet that Microsoft will welcome this development with arms wide open as it will push the idea of Windows/PC as a gaming platform. The potential for Live Anywhere exists with these games. The PC is a more global platform than the PS3 can ever be.

I got to play the demo (both levels) and I don't really understand the appeal of this game? The controls felt restrictive, and the gameplay felt very standard. Unless I was missing something there was no 'close quarters' attacking ability, which made it awkward when enemies came up close and you slowly (realtive to real life) had to center your aimer on them instead of belting them in the face. Maybe they game just isn't for me, but Dead Rising was much more fun to play.

Someone made a pointed observation about the more devoted Xbox fanbase, no matter what the game, it isn't just enough to like a new IP game, you general have to LOVE it. This is one game that I don't understand the apparent love for, it would be relatively unremarkable were it not on the 360 and up against many more japanese games on the PS3 platform. Though Dead Rising is great, I must say, it seems neither games are without their flaws.

That's not a "pointed observation" so much as it's "biased, ridiculous, childish crap". It's kind of sad when someone reaches the point that they honestly believe something like that. We're hyping the game because it's on Xbox, or a new IP? Yeah, because that makes much more sense than us liking it because it's actually good, because we can play the demo, see the screens, watch the videos, and know that it's good, right? Though you do have a point, I have to admit, just look at Ninety Nine Nights, that was a new IP and a hyped 360 game and people were just crazy over it....oh wait.

First off:

Stop bringing Playstation into this board. Cause this will piss most people off in here.

Second off: your post reeks of Sonyness.

If my post reeks of Sonyness, I think you are too sensitive. :\

I suppose they are no different then a contingent of any console, and there are a lot of people who sill tried to say N3 was fun. Didn't it get very bad impressions and reviews?

Is there something I'm missing with this game? It seems very standard, at least going by the demo.

I never ran out in the demo, there always just seemed to be this endless supply.

Yeah, I tried to run out of it a few times but got sick of waiting.

Oh. Maybe I just SUCK at this game. Like, really, really SUCK.

Thanks guys. You're real nice.
