Magneto is probably the best villain in all of Marvel, Movies and Comics combined. What makes him so great is that he's relatable and not 2 dimensional like most villains.

He's the polar opposite of Xavier... IMO Magneto is the best comic-book villian of all time, simply because he's not out to rob a bank, or kill the hero, just for the hell of it. He has deep motivations for his actions, and everyone can relate to what Magneto feels.

Ian McKellen complained on the set of upcoming sequel X-Men: The Last Stand because he wanted his character Magneto to have some gay sex scenes. The star, who has been openly gay since 1988, insists a homoerotic sub-plot would have enhanced the movie.

McKellen tells Empire magazine, "He hasn't been given a love line, which I think is a pity. It would be wonderful if the camera hovered over Magneto's bed, to discover him making love to Professor X."

However, McKellen admits he needed camera trickery to help him match Magneto's muscular physique. He adds, "I'd like to see him at the gym, because in the comics he has the most amazing body. I'm the slimline version of Magneto, but of course, these days you could morph my body into something really fantastic

Magneto. He's in my Top 5 villians of all-time and Ian McKellan, in my point of view, is Magneto. I have this feeling that he will die in X3. To me, I count this first trilogy as Magneto's. He has had really important parts in all of them. If he does die, I want him to go out with a bang, and I really do hope that they do make that solo Magneto picture.

exactly! He has motives and reasons. He isn't some pompus idiot who just goes out and robs the bank or a jewelry store!

Yes, he is. Magneto's right there on the top of my list, with Sinister following closely behind, and he's not all crazy evil like the others. He wants what's best for his race (mutants) and will do what's necessary.

Heck, even I want to be on his side.

Hmm, hard to say where Mags ranks in Marvel's villian lineup, but definitely in the top 5 possibly as high as no. 2. IMO, No. 1 has to be Dr. Doom, you got to give him that. While Eric is certainly a more empathetic figure than Doom, Doom is just your classic baddie.

But I've always loved Mags, for one he symbolizes Marvels approach that the bad guys were often more powerful than the hero. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee epitomized that phillosophy with all there characters, especially Mags. Kirby also brought that dynamic when he worked for DC, when he created guys like Darkseid.

One thing I wished the movies had brought out was Mag's children. I realize that Marvel is problably saving Wanda for an Avengers movie, and understandibly so. Perhaps there can be a bit of a crossover there, but surely they could have brough Quicksilver into the fold.

They are playing up the Phoenix story as Jean as Xaviers surrogate daughter going over to Mag's side. The more interesting story is Scarlet Witch or Qucksilver, going away from their father and joining Xavier.

To me it's more understandable for the muties like John and others, who realize they are outcasts and perhaps Mags is right. But it's unfortunate we will not see anyone on Mag's side see that Xavier is really in the right.
