You can see in Mark's eyes that filming this movie was the first time in a decade that he wished he hadn't broken up The Funky Bunch.

I would recommend to all the forthcoming book (I got an advance copy) THE CAPED CRUSADE: Batman And The Rise Of Nerd Culture by Glen Weldon. He has a lot to say about the choices of online expression in the fan community, in fact Superherohype is name dropped a few times in the book. Hopefully it's out soon.
I certainly know some folks who will enjoy reading it just for references to the uncouth of this site.

It is an interesting read covering Batman history. I think any fan that is interested in a cultural critique of the character should give it a read. I don't agree with all the author's conclusions but it's well thought out. Plus... Anything that helps to continue to correct the whole "Bob Kane invented Batman by himself" narrative is welcome.

Does it cover the accuracy of each Batman film as an adaption?

In a way it very much does. It talks a lot about the difference between Batman the character, the property of WB/DC that has been around since 1939 and the IDEA of Batman which exists and is held dear by the masses of fans and is tailored by those fans themselves to fit their own take on Batamn both individually and as sub groups within the fan world. Like I said, I don't totally agree with all his thoughts but his ideas are well articulated. We are scrambling to see if we can get him on our podcast right now. I would love to sit down with Weldon and pick his brain.

I need to write this info down, at least to remember getting a copy.

The Caped Crusade: Batman And The Rise Of Nerd Culture by Glen Weldon from SIMON AND SCHUSTER. My copy says a sale date in June but that may have changed and it could be out earlier.

One of the most relentless political attack ads you will see in your life.

Ted's new mess didn't crop up until Jeb! endorsed him.

Speaking of werewolves and vamps, of all the anime/manga properties I have always wondered why Hollywood never got on a live action stylish adaptation of VAMPIRE HUNTER D?

Needs to happen. Visually and aesthetically it's very unique compared to a lot of stuff out now.

As I understand it they could even base it off the original novel as well.

I have always liked the two VAMP D. films I have seen but admit they don't quite gel as fully formed entertainment but the mythology and lore and the visuals are uber compelling. I am just surprised we never saw this getting traction in Hollywood given the big deal vampires in pop culture were just a few years back.

If you haven't seen the youtube video "Hitler reacts to Batman V Superman"... get on that...

You should probably just wait for the bluray. its edited so so so badly.

Literally looks like a 4 hour movie was cut into pieces... snyder grabbed a 2.5 hour handful, tossed it in a bucket and stirred it around.

Oh and Doomsday is so amazingly awful.

I feel that the version with the 30 minutes added back into the movie will be better.

its not just the length though... its just a bunch of scattershot scenes lol the movie doesnt feel like it flows properly, imo.

and other than Gal being a gorgeous woman... I don't get it. meh.

She was amazing in BvS IMO, obliterated any doubt ive had with her over the years.

Her mannerisms felt like Marvel's Thor to me.

Finally got to see Black Mass, great film. :)

There's about...easily 20 odd novels and novellas within that world for them to mine if they so choose. The source material was so rich that I think in the hands of real talent it could potentially become a Conan the Barbarian style franchise at the very least. The novellas felt like something from the 30s pulp era, with a good dose of Gothic blended in.

The point is, you guys think I'm a hero and I'll accept that responsibility
