10. "X-Men: The Last Stand" -- Director Brett Ratner survived a brutal backlash from diehard "X-Men" fans as the unlucky filmmaker who replaced director Bryan Singer (who delivered as expected with his epic "Superman Returns"), and as a result churned out a movie just as entertaining and socially relevant as the first two films in the series. "The Last Stand" -- which added Beast (Kelsey Grammer) and Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones) to the mix, among others -- focuses on a mutant cure and the rise of The Dark Phoenix (Famke Janssen). Ian McKellen (Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Professor X) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) all turn in great performances, as expected, but it's Janssen who steals the show as the tantalizing alter ego of Jean Grey. With the third-biggest box office take of the year, is this "X-Men" truly the last stand? Probably not -- there are too many doors left open at the end of the film -- and if you haven't seen it yet, watch it to the very end for a big surprise.
9. "Invincible"--
8. "For Your Consideration"
7. "Stranger Than Fiction
6. "Blood Diamond"
5. "The Departed" --
4. "The Queen"
. "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"
2. "Flags of Our Fathers"/"Letters From Iwo Jima"
1. "United 93"
as you can see superman and pirates da vinci code , mi3 etc. are not on that list

Because a small portion of internet fanboys do not make up the general opinion of this film.

It's a rather mixed response to this film, rather than an all out negative one.

I've seen it as the third best, the tenth best, the third worst, the fourth worst and seventh worst in Brazilian lists. The third best position was in a list made by fans (this is the only way such a film can get that high).

Forget X-Men 3. How the hell did Stranger Than Fiction get on ANYONE'S best list?

Nell is right. Internet fans of the X-Men dont really like the film but we make up like 5% of the general movie going audience. Those who dont know what happens in the comics will be satisfied with the movies. Its the same with any other cult movie franchise. LOTR superfans arent happy with the movies because things have been cut from the books and changed around, Harry Potter die hards get upset because important things are changed and swapped around. Those who dont know any better however can just sit back and enjoy the movie for what it is.

^^
I'm not a big fan of lists, but Nell and _BB_ are exactly right. A lot of what I read here does not reflect in any way what I hear in "the real world."

Is there any link. I can never find anything on Ebert and Roeper's comments on movies

If Little Miss Sunshine isn't on the list, I personally don't take it seriously at all.

Obviously it's the top ten list of the best films. Anyone with a brain wouldn't call The Departed, Blood Diamond, or The Queen horrible films.

Meh, I could careless if X3 is regarded as a great film. The general audience really has the worst case of ADD and really don't like films that require actual thinking or sitting through dialogue.

Bottom line X3 in my opinion is one of the worst films I've ever seen. I'd rather watch Catwoman or Pearl Harbor 1089897897979 times than watch X3 again.

Exactly. I find it hilarious how X3 defenders get all happy and excited when a group of fans decide to make a list and X3 happens to be on it which makes them all excited, happy, and start celebrating as if this film was nominated in the Academy Awards for Best Film. :whatever:

Stop saying that. Everyone is so sure Fanboys are the only kind of ppl who disliked X3. :whatever: Way to stereotype ppl.

I doubt 50% of the critics who gave it a bad review or put it on a worst list, are "fanboys". ;)

I know that other people disliked the film also. I know plenty of "general audience" people who disliked the film.

The point is... the overall reaction to this film is a mixed one. It's not negative. It's not positive. It's mixed.

I know people who absolutley love this film. I know people who think it's trash. With X-Men and X2, it's a lot more positive. Not so much here. It's a definatley mixed reaction. Not a negative one.

I totally agree with that. I personally dislike the film with a passion. :p

But i don't think it was one of the worst films ever, like alot of lists are putting up to be.

I still think the trilogy deserved a place on that other list.

:)
