The Music of "Wolverine"

X3 was a much longer movie - that was reduced to have more screenings per day.

The X3 soundtrack actually has tracks of music that belong to scenes that never made it to the big screen. The isolated fight between Wolverine and Juggernaut has an entire track of its own (#12).

No, I dont quite agree on that...

Either way, The runtime on this is short.

X3's soundtrack had a lot of short pieces and a few 30 second tracks so Id say thats why the track count is higher, thats not really the problem though.

I don't get what you're saying.

You wanted the score for Wolverine to be longer than 45 minutes but you're using the X3 score as an example of something better when the X3 score was 70 minutes and the film was 130 minutes (with all added scenes).

do the math - the scores for both films are about half the length of the films.

Interesting. The soundtrack length is longer than X-Men but shorter than X2 and The Last Stand.

For those who have seen the work print, do the track names appear to reveal any new scenes or sequences that aren’t in the work print?

Cant wait to hear the soundtrack. I have only heard the Kingdom Of Heaven soundtrack and the the one track he did for Metal Gear Solid 4 but he seems to be a good composer. With 45 min I hope the reacurring themes are good. Good for Wade/Deadpool, gets two tracks on the soundtrack.

Nope.

Pumped to hear what "Deadpool" and "Wade goes to work" sound like.

Was any of the score in the workprint official? I thought the music when Wade diced those guys up was perfect, with that little oriental sound at the end as he looks up.

Thanks Peter McCabe.

I think i'll refrain though from reading the entire track list.:o

I see some outlets list the release as a May 5th release. Is it delayed, or still April 28th?

Colliseum.de has three audio previews of the score.

Not nearly as good as Ottman and Powell's scores were -- in fact, it's not even half as good as those are.

what.. Cant you just post the link...

Gah this is so damn annoying, WTF is colliseum.de !?!? i cant understand this... I want the clips!

The score sounds okay. It's far too out of context to say anything beyond that.

Couldnt be more wrong in my opion, those 4 preview tracks are AWESOME!

plus its only a preview! theres so much more to listen to yet, and if its this kind of quality, I cant wait! has a very Metal Gear sound to it (which Harry has done) that I love!

WTF? Now that's pushing it, especially when you're just listening to 20 second previews to just a few tracks.

I listened to them and I like them. They sound more like your typical fast-paced epic action suspense film instead of a huge, orchestral militant cadence, which you would find for an X-Men movie. I think with this being a solo movie focused on Wolverine per se, you'd expect something different here.

Yeah it totally reminded me of MGS4. Which is a good thing. That track he did for the game was awesome. Sounds real good.

Cant wait to hear the whole thing.

Yeah, I definitely heard a bit of MGS I think in the Gambit preview...I think it was.

Holy crap! Well...atleast something good came out of this movie. Getting this for sure.

Yea.. I just looove all the Metal Gear music.. Especially the opening to Metal Gear Solid 2, So I have full faith this music will be amazing. Snake is like.. the videogame worlds Wolverine haha... So its perfect!

Has potential to be better then Powells imo

And the X-men films had to have a type of main theme going on with them also, But this is just wolverine, so he doesnt need a main theme imo like a typical "hero" or whatever. This sounds like it will be pretty edgy, so thats perfect.

I'm liking what I hear. Can't wait for the rest!

Logan Through Time
