Even with the "maybe", a small week. AW-M is running quite behind schedule; this final issue should have come out months ago. A cover for GUARDING THE GLOBE #3 has eliminated some suspense as it confirms the titular hero will survive, but hopefully it can still provide a satisfying finale. T-Bolts also rewards fans who have stuck around for 150 issues with an additional buck in price; one wonders why fans stick around at all. If Spider-Girl #1 sells anywhere within the Top 40, I will be stunned. Still, in terms of quality it should be a good week, and it will be the lightest in about a month for me.

Thanks Tron. I gotta decide what I'm gonna do with all this Batman. Tony Daniel is doing BATMAN solo, right? Still on the fence with that. I'm definitely dropping B&R. I'm hoping BATMAN INC is gonna be good, but honestly, I'm not really interested in international Batman so we'll see. Finch's DARK KNIGHT, or whatever it's called, looks good, but I'm not sold on him as a writer. Hmmm...what to do??

And Rulk in Avengers = :barf:

I may nitpick and be underwhelmed by Brubaker's SECRET AVENGERS, but at least it's been 100% Rulk-less. Heck, it's problem isn't the roster; it's in getting Brubaker to remember that it consists of more than Steve Rogers, Sharon Carter, Eric O'Grady and Beast. :p

Any particular reason for picking up Spider-Girl?

Yep, both writing and art.

I have two:
1). Interest in the character, especially from YOUNG ALLIES
2). The creative team is quite strong. Paul Tobin has usually done good work from what I've read, and Clayton Henry is a good artist. Even if it sells 500 copies, it'll likely be above average.

Yeah, which is basically his entire workload for Vertigo. I'm hoping for reprints of Rogan Gosh and Enigma. And I have no idea why DC hasn't reprinted Dark Knight, Dark City yet. Morrison's current run ties directly into that...DC trades department just baffles me.

HELLBLAZER #273 - always a given
SUPERMAN #705 - I'll admit it's already on the chopping block w/all the delays
CHAOS WAR DEAD AVENGERS #1 - intrigued
DAKEN DARK WOLVERINE #3 :yay:
DEADPOOLMAX #2 - :awesome: 1st issue by Lapham
OSBORN #1 - interesting
SUPERIOR #2
THUNDERBOLTS #150 :yay:
X-MEN #5 :yay:
BOYS HIGHLAND LADDIE #4

Interesting. I've never read anything by Tobin. I don't know much about the character, outside some brief Spidey appearances, and the last Girl title that I a similar situation with worked out pretty well for the most part.

Yeah, DC's trade philosophy is a puzzling one. I'm hoping if they keep up this DC Presents thing, maybe the next few Batman ones will be his Detective issues or something. Or just reprint them proper.

Why are you dropping Batman and Robin? With the team they're getting on that book, that may very well be the best Batman book in the coming months.

And yes, you should most definitely drop Batman. It's only on my pull list because I'm partially an idiot.

Paul Tobin is best known for his run on MARVEL ADVENTURES SPIDER-MAN that many people liked. I didn't read it. But, he has written some back-up strips for HERCULES: FALL OF AN AVENGER and some anthologies that I enjoyed and actually thought were quite good, so I'm willing to give him a shot in his first 616 ongoing attempt.

I never read much about the character, but I have grown more familiar with her enough to at least give this title a go. Arana is a character that I felt had some charm, once writers stopped writing stories specifically intertwined in her origins about magical spider societies fighting evil magic wasp people, which was gaudy. I don't think she needed to have her powers removed, and her codename and costume change, though. But, it's too late now.

Frankly, if any ongoing launch could have benefited from a $2.99 issue one before Feb. 2011, it's this one. Spider-Man has just been unable to support spin-off's lately.

Who's the new team? Honestly, I figured it wasn't gonna be any good without Morrison. And with Bruce back as Batman, the whole Dick & Damien dynamic is gonna be gone, so....

Batman and Robin is still going to star Dick and Daiman, so I don't know what you mean there.

The new team is Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. Who had an acclaimed run on Green Lantern Corps for about 3 years. Not to mention Tomasi wrote about a year and a half of really great Nightwing comics, so he's proven he knows how to write the character.

But they don't start on the book until Janaury. I think they're having a 3 issue fill-in by Jeff Lemire (I could be wrong though) and Scott McDaniels. Which is, again, a pretty awesome creative team in their own right.

It's Paul Cornell not Lemire but it will still be awesome.

Cornell! Thanks, I knew it was one of DC's more up and coming awesome writers.

As far as BATMAN & ROBIN goes, I thought since Bruce was back as Batman, it'd be him and Damien as Robin. And I'm not really looking forward to a father/son Dynamic Duo. I just assumed Dick would go back to being Nightwing? NIGHTWING & ROBIN? I'm confused.

I don't know, man. All I do know is I gotta trim books. 4 Batman books is too much for me. I'd be happy with 2. I just have to figure out which 2 I like.

Why don't you actually go look some Batman comics news then? It's been pretty wildly publicized that Dick is remaining as Batman.
