A heavy week, mostly because most of Marvel's books are $4. If I get everything, that's over $30 and this is Thanksgiving week. Ideally, that means I either finally drop IIM or pass on THUNDERSTRIKE, or even CHAOS WAR: ALPHA FLIGHT. Ah, a limited budget...something David Gabriel doesn't have to worry about. Such a shame his customers and retailers do.

Just drop IIM already. You know you want some of that Thunderstrike goodness.

I'm at that stage with IIM where my mantra is usually, "I've hung around this long, I want to at least see how it ends". That becomes a problem, though, when every arc stretches beyond 8 issues in length.

SECRET AVENGERS was THIS CLOSE to being gone after issue four, and if these next few issues don't dazzle me, it may be gone. The caveat is I can see Brubaker improving or at least having more peaks and valleys than Fraction tends to, least on IIM. I'm also THIS CLOSE to ditching THOR. It just isn't doing much for me, especially coming off the under appreciated Gillen run.

The Ice story a couple weeks ago was just bad. Really bad. The most recent one wasn't a huge improvement, either. I'll give it a couple more issues, though. Rocket Red is worth that much.

I read the latest issue last night, and felt a bit better by it. I mean...I hated it, right up to the point where they killed off Magog. THEN, I was cheering. I cannot STAND that character. And, Max making Captain Atom look like the bad guy was pretty awesome. The ending was so worth the $2.99.

Yeah, the ending was good. I'm always a bit wary of Captain Atom being painted as a villain, though. That whole Monarch fiasco in Countdown was just horrendous.
