the new Doc Ock

So far, so good. Right now he doesn't seem like a person who would be an arrogant, evil man. But everything is going to change soon enough, and when it does, get ready for Doctor Octopus!
And I am so lovin the dynamic transition that will take place with both Octavious and Brock for that matter because right now you just don't see the villain side of them unlike Norman.

not sure i've taken to ock yet, armed and dangerous is in my top two favourite tas eps, they are going to have to get him completely right.

I don't know if they can even top the Doc Ock of the 90's. :)

I grew up with that Ock, and thats how I picture him to sound and act.

I'm not really liking the new Ock because to me he sounds like a little beach. :O
You would expect him to sound like that being timid and concerning all the time. It will change.

Exactly, Ock is basically puny and sort of scared right now, but once the accident happens, he won't be scared and puny anymore.

I really think Otto will wow us all when he becomes Doc Ock. Remember how Peter was before he became Spider-Man? He was shy and hot babes like Liz Allen wouldn't give him the time of day. When he became the web-head he was surrounded by hot babes. I can't wait to hear Ock put some bass in his voice.

I wonder...it seems that everyone is pretty certain that it will be an accident that makes him Doc Ock. But the series has redesigned a lot of characters so far. Unless everyone is privy to information that I am not, could it be possible that Norman Osborn forces him into an experiment that involves fusing his mechanical appendages to his body? I guess it is just as practical to have an accident occur, but it seems like Osborn needs to pump out some more super-soldiers. Plus, Ock in this could remain rather timid, but after the event, he could desire to kill Osborn for his perceived betrayal, especially after his protests about the stealing of the Vulture's designs and the experiments on Marko and O'Hirn were ignored. Thus, he could become a "misunderstood" villain in the way that Electro is on the series.
Well, I guess this is all just mindless speculation, especially given when Ock is supposed to appear. But it's interesting that everyone seems so sure of what will happen.

i know

what size tv u watch on, for me my tv is only 20inch but also have watched a few episodes when i am home on a 30-35inch big screen tv.

i was just answering his question. Hmm that would be odd if he choices to be fused with the arms.

I've heard whispers that Ock deliberately fuses the tentacles to his body. Anyone else hear this?

Wow, that's hilarious. I was just rambling about that possibility a moment ago. Where'd you hear of that?

hmmm maybe he does choose to have them fused but then there is an accident which makes him go crazy.

Hm...that's very interesting. It's interesting that the post suggests mixed messages: a guide site saying that it's intentional, and a box set saying that it was a sabotaged experiment. Maybe he intended to fuse the arms, but someone (maybe Osborn/Green Goblin) messes with the experiment, and drives Ock mad. Or maybe it was meant to be reversable, and someone sabotages it to make it permanent. Again, rambling speculation on my part.

Oops--I promise, I'm not trying to copy you. I guess we responded at roughly the same time. Interesting how we came up with slightly divergent interpretations of that same information.

Well, it defenitley does seem likely because Otto has been treated like he's weak and stuff.

we will see in a few weeks or when we get the official ep description.

Yeah...trying to gain the power.
I like how all of the villains have been...less than evil. Everyone, hero, villain, and supporting character, feels fully fleshed out in just a few episodes. Except for Jameson. But then again, there are Jamesons in the world, so I can't complain.

Not to get off topic, but its getting a tad bit annoying that your posting that picture in every post

I'll compromise. New pages of threads, and any discussion where I have not posted before. Now is everyone happy?

Um...to get back to the topic...in Episode VI, it implies that the Big Man/Tombstone is using Otto to blackmail Osborn. Hypothetically, Otto could be one of the priority people that have in some way "hurt" Osborn in the eyes of the Green Goblin. Therefore, he could interfere, sabotaging a potential experiment of Otto's in which he was trying to fuse his appendages to his body.

I just rewatched that scene on dailymotion.

Norman: These Midtown brawls. People are starting to ask questions. Best to let things cool off for a bit.

Hammerhead: We cool off when the Big Man says so, see? Or do you want everyone to find out who created Freak 1 and Freak 2?

Norman: Please. There's nothing to trace them back to OsCorp or myself.

Hammerhead: Really? Tell that to Dr. Octavius.

Then Harry comes in and the conversation is cut off. Hammerhead's right. Octavius is the weak link and he needs to be eliminated in order to protect his assets. Sabotaged experiment makes a lot of sense.
