It's not just Jubilee whose birth year they've completely rewritten for Apocalypse, though; you've also got Psylocke, Angel, and Nightcrawler, all of whom will have been born at least a decade or two earlier in the new timeline/universe than they were in the original timeline/universe, which pretty much 'opens the floodgates' as far as re-using characters we've previously seen is concerned.

I do.

Yep i am awre they also cahnged ages for Angel and psylocke. With nightcrawler it's more of a grey area since we don't know how old he is suspose to have been In X2.

Regardless the any character not seen in future ending of DOFP is fair game assumintan holds.

It's totally possable they recast sunspot and warpath with younger actors in New mutants.

Kinberg had talked about films being set in seperate time frames so new mutants could be set in presnt/near future.

That opens door for members of OT cast being used for supporting roles or cameos. All of X-Men creative team had mentioned they could be used in future and it doesn't look like that will happen with Apocalypse but that could with new mutants with them as teachers to New Mutants.

Truthfully, I hope they don't even bother bringing back Sunspot, Blink or Warpath. Other than Sunspot, none of them were members of the original 80's/90's run this is being based off, not to mention none of those actors can pass for teenagers.

Booboo and Fan can.

Having said that, though, there's no reason they couldn't recast the roles if Boone decided he wanted to re-use the characters.

Also, Blink is the only new character introduced by Singer in DoFP who wasn't part of "New Mutants vol. 1".

I find it amusing that people think that the last 5 minutes of DOFP is some sort of concrete pillar of the upcoming stories. They will ignore it when they feel like it.

Yep, Magik or Lila Cheney would make Blink redundant.

It is more than redundant. Magik's and Blink's teleportation powers are nearly identical.

Then what was purpose for it then. That already erased all the non-FC films.
Ignoring it creates even more contunity problems. And takes away those who think earlier films have any relvence to films. And if wolverine solo film is after that future scene they are getting into even worse contunity problems than they had before the time travel "Reboot"

Magik is more likely to be used than Blink.

Fox has both FF2 and war of planet of the apes for summer 2017.Inless this comes out in fall 2017 the Fox marvel films of 2017 may just be wolverine and FF2.

If the X-Men/FF crossover isn't the mystery 2018 film new mutants could get it's slot or new mutants comes in spring and other gets the july date.

I think they can make a 2017 release. It's not like they announced it with nobody in charge. They already got Boone directing and co-writing. If they can sort out the casting, roster, and locations and etc. during the Summertime and Early Fall, I can see them filming around this time next year and making a 2017 release.

I don't think all that is as easy as I made it sound, but still...

It's kinda weird that they announced this out of nowhere with a director already attached and yet Gambit doesn't seem to be making any progress.

I think it's mostly because Gambit is in my opinion Shuler Donner's passion project and they got Channing Tatum and announced a film before any development. With this film I think Boone approached the idea to the studio so they don't really need to find a director or writer.

Well Boone is also writing the script... Usually they find a writer first then a director but with Boone, he is also a director so I guess Fox just went with a double deal with him.

Boone might have a few projects lined up most notably The Stand and perhaps The Vampire Lestat. The Stand also looks to be a pretty ambitious project judging by a few interviews from him so who knows how that might affect New Mutants. He also said all was well with it when people expressed their concerns for the project a few days ago.

But if New Mutants comes ahead of that, I'm all for it. Hopefully Boone is ready to handle it!

Dang, I completely forgot that Gambit didn't have a Director attached yet. Now, I'm worried about them making the 2016 date.

The impression that I've gotten is those projects of his are coming before New Mutants. That's why I don't get why people would think 2017. Even 2018 seems questionable.

because of magma and because of the original comic effects

And Human Torch. Even if there is no shared universe with FF, it would be good if Fox could do something more comic accurate and more different with Sunspot.

Just give us Mirage, Cannonball, Magik, Wolfsbane, Karma, Magma and Warlock.

I know things seem to be going great so far with Fox, but will they use Warlock now? Sunspot would be easier and he is one of the most popular male characters of New Mutants.

I'd rather have Sunspot again and Warlock is an alien right? How in the world are they gonna adapt him? I hope visually, Sunspot's fire form will be closer to how it looks in the comics.

Exactly.

I doubt the team will have only one male character. So my guess is Cannonball and Sunspot. If they add another, it could be Doug. He might not have good powers but the could play an important role.

I guess they'll go with a team of six:
-Sam
-Dani
-Illyana
-Sunspot
-Wolfsbane
-Karma

Rictor is another male New Mutant they could use as well. I think they might use him because his earthquake powers are unlike anything we have seen before in the X-Men films.

IMO, Dani will be the hardest to cast, so they will probably be looking to audition a bunch of Native American girls between 14-20 to play her. She will probably end up being played by an unknown newcomer, like how Jubilee is being played by Lana Condor.

Which is good, because I doubt that Hollywood wants to use Wes Studi and Adam Beach as their "go-to Native American actors" in movies all of the time. Yes, I know that BooBoo Stewart played Warpath, but he's a mix of Asian (Japanese/Chinese/Korean), Indian (Blackfoot) and European (Scottish and Russian).
