Direct-to-DVD sequels = official?

Yeah, I have heard of it but didnt feel it was at all worth mentioning.

Then you have a case like Universal Soldier, that actually has two DTV sequels that were made before with Van Damme's character, played by a different actor, then Van Damme returned for a theatrically released sequel.

^ Not DTV, but two Showtime TV flicks.

I like the two Dracula sequels. Nothing really in common from the first (theater) one...except for same director and writers. Dracula II was actually suppose to be Dracula 2000 ( or at least have Uffizi from II in 2000).

I was on joblo and searching the new dvd releases and saw "OPEN WATER 2"....?????

This may be evil.. But i enjoyed Tremors 2: After Shocks. The third i never saw.
That would've been the one that I would've brought up, too. The third is quite good, actually.

the *wishmaster* flicks were pretty amusing. Anyone see the *darkman* sequels? :wow:

I think DTV sequels ought to count. For example, House of the Dead 2 (which I bought cheap but haven't watched yet) has the same writer from the first and picks up the story where the first film left off. Some DTV sequels (like Dorm Daze 2) are kinda pointless, but like I said, I think they ought to count.

Didn't the 2nd come out in theatres?

But anyways, pretty much every Disney DTV sucks. Starship Troopers 2 sucked also{even more than the first one}.
