Music. Tours. This thread is for all things Aerosmith!

Discuss.

:yay:

The new tour officially kicks off on June 10th in St. Louis!

Yup. I was excited to hear they'll be in town in July. I hope I can make it.

One of my all time favorite bands. I saw them in 2005 at Jones Beach. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Why would he quit? I doubt that either Tyler or Aerosmith without him will do anywhere as well on their own as they did together, and it's not like it seems that there are any personal disputes.

I never understood that. I mean, Aerosmith is pretty much Steven Tyler. Yeah, I get that a band is a team effort and all that, but even with all the musical talent in the world there's only so much you can do with an instrument, where a singer's voice gives the band's music a much more distinct sound.

What the..?

Facepalm overload!!!!11!!2

Yeah, I saw that last night and was too tired to post an update. But why in the world did they even start this trash in the first place? Joe posts on his Twitter that Tyler quit, they haven't spoken in weeks, and now he's back?

Talk about major Van Halen like lead singer drama. :whatever::doh:

You know, I love Aerosmith as they're one of my favorite bands. But I lost some major respect for them with this.

I was really hoping this was true. I love Aerosmith, but they need to give it up. I saw them about four months ago and they were a total embarassment. They came onstage two hours late (though it was partially due to weather), and only played for about 85 minutes. And their prices are rediculous. :whatever: It's no wonder the tour was cancelled. Half of the shows were either cancelled or postponed before the tour itself collapsed altogether.

There are quite a few older acts who retain their relevance and vitality as they great older (The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bruce, McCartney, etc.). Aerosmith are not one of them.

And if this were true, replacing Steven Tyler would have been even worse.

They've been out of the news for awhile, probably just a publicity stunt to gain some attention for a new cd or something.

It almost sounds like a publicity stunt. Perry and Tyler are both working on solo records, but that doesn't mean that they're splitting.

Probably right, the last "publicity" I recall for them was that horrible photo where Steven Tyler looked like Rose Kennedy. As bad as this is, I think it's better than that photo!

Steven Tyler has checked back into rehab for an addiction to painkillers.

:csad:

Had the pleasure of seeing Aerosmith perform on the closing night of Download festival at Donington, Steven never sounded better; the rest of the band sounded just as awesome, Joe F****n' Perry!! To celebrate heres one of my favourite performances of the boys :D

Going to an Aerosmith concert tonight. Reamonn is the opening act. Will share my thoughts once it's over. :)

Has anyone seen them recently? I'm considering seeing them next week, but don't want to shell out the $80 if the show they put on is just ok.

I'll answer my own question: they killed it. I was pretty blown away considering these guys are pushing 60 if not already there. The topper was being relocated from the upper level to the lower level at random because the arena wasn't completely sold out. Very good show. Best I've seen this year.
