I use Ulead Gif Animator 5. I use photoshop to make images and quicktime pro to make short clips. I tried to use ImageReady but I could never wrap my head around it hahah so I just stuck to what I knew.

Ulead is teh best.

 ImageReady can do some fancy transitions with images that I can't figure out how to do in Ulead though hahah. Like:

Haha, that's true. There's actually a lot I don't know how to do with ulead. Simple things like overlaying a white frame onto an existing one and changing the opacity to make a fading effect always gives me an error message.

But whatever, I just just make simple gifs anyways.

I only use Photoshop CS5 (and Powerdirector for editing the video) and I know there's tons of different options to do for avvys but I only got to learn a few. I can import an existing gif, so going on sites like tumblr is very helpful.

What's the error?

Nice. It's a pain to make avatars sometimes because I have to do so much stuff manually (like delete 100s of film frames, transitions, etc.) lol but I don't mind. It's a good way to kill some time.

How do you decompress them in Photoshop CS5?

two ways, when I import a video/gif to photoshop I choose "Selected Range Only" and check "Limit every __ frames" and in that blank I'll usually pick 3 or 4 depending on how long the video/gif is (sometimes I don't even have to use it). Then once I have my gif ready to export in "Save for Web & Devices", I'll lower the presets/colors/differ/ect to match the hype limits.

Wait, so you manually delete every frame, you don't have a "Limit every __ frames" option?

lol I never really bothered looking into it, but for the first time ever I just googled how to delete more than one frame... turns out you can select multiple frames by holding shift. Goddamnit. :(

lol damn, I had the same reaction when I found out about how to Limit every __ frames. Before I just manually deleted frames randomly but now whenever I use that option, It automatically deletes every [insert any number] of frames when it gets imported to Photoshop.

I've got a challenge for some of you techies, or maybe easy, but all I know is that I'm terrible at this stuff lol. I would like to use an avatar for another site since I don't have enough posts to have one here yet. I'm looking to create Captain America as an Anaheim Duck.

I'm thinking this picture and replace the blue with black, the red with orange and leave the white, and replace the star on his chest with a Ducks D. If you can't replace the Star with a D just color the star gold.

I don't know how this works so that might not be the best picture so here's another one to use. Use the same template with the color switches and the star to a D if you can.

I kind of going for this look, obviously not the same design but for the colors.

Here's the Ducks D I'm talking about

I tried to find the right color codes so it'd be easier but the colors above are correct.

I still use Ulead for my avatar, since for some reason I keep finding some obstacles when I'm trying to do it in CS5. :csad: I think it is because CS5 is such a powerful tool, so the number of options and sliders are so overwhelming for a novice like me. On the other hand, Ulead is more limited but alot simplier and intuitive to use. Hopefully someday I can conquer CS5 because it can do so many amazing things.

Btw, would you recommend any CS5 book for me to read? I'd like an Idiot's Guide or something to talk to me about this program in layman's terms.

LOL, I manually deplete frames as well. :woot:

The video I sent you a while back was my introduction to gifs on photoshop.

Can I get a 100x100 of this:

Could I get an 100x100 avatar of this vid at 1:35-1:37, the part where the money is handed to the ref?

Thanks!

Could I get this GIF with "Dean Winchester" side scrolling in 100x100?
