My ending my exclusive is separate entirely from the work I'm doing currently. Checkmate plans have been in progress for the last year or more, and will continue as planned. There are other DC plans, as well.

Please do not confuse my decision to not remain exclusive with a decision to no longer do work for DC; I love DC's characters, and I intend to continue writing stories about them.

Mademoiselle Marie was awesome. I don't know about the whole Eastern Bloc suit of whites now, but I'll see how they play out. The series has managed to remain interesting pretty well, despite that crappy crossover with the Outsiders.

damn the art in this issue was superb, that superman was awesome, almost as better as eagleshame, it's a shame this book is going to get canned.

This arc is off to a great start. It's a shame there's only two more issues of quality Checkmate left.

I was a bit disappointed about Superman, too. Don't get me wrong, he was great in the issue. I just wonder why Superman was used at all rather than the Flash. The Flash has a much stronger history with Kobra and, according to Sasha, the primary reason for Superman's involvement was speed. It would've been great to see Wally tear some Kobra *****es up. With Superman, it was all right but I was like, "Eh, he's Superman. I see that **** all the time."

I think just the one is a robot. Didn't his identifier call him a mechanoid or robot or something to that effect? The rest of them didn't have whatever word it was that tipped you off that he would be a robot. Plus, that'd be kind of similar to what Johns is doing in GL at the moment with the Alpha Lanterns.

i dunno They seemed very hesitant about unleashing them, and while they were activating each robot, they showed images of people. check out page 20 on the top.
