What was wrong with the first Daredevil movie and his costume? I still don't get it. I thought the movie was okay. I bought it on DVD.

What was so bad about it?

I speculate that they won't make a Daredevil 2. How can they build off the first movie? Not enough people saw it/remember it, and not nearly enough people would get excited about an announcement of a sequel. There don't seem to be any famous villains left after Kingpin and Bullseye either. I'll continue to read these threads though, and see if anybody has any great ideas. For now, I'd rather see Marvel spend their money on a new property - Namor, Silver Surfer, Thor, etc.

If they make DD2, they need to make it like the Director's Cut version, meaning that they'd better not cut anything when they put it into theaters, or else there WILL be mobs.
I agree that the costume (well, at least the mask) needs to be altered, and we need to continue with the tortured soul thing.
Bullseye doesn't need to return. Nor does Kingpin. With Fisk behind bars, I want the Owl to step in and try to takeover the crime empire, and Daredevil will battle him. And we need a love interest. So throw in Glorianna and Typhoid Mary, and give Foggy a bigger role, as in let him play a part in the main plot and not the subplot (as seen in the Director's Cut). And let him become suspicious of Matt's whereabouts and all that, causing tension between them.

I want DD2 to be dark, gritty, and tough. Just like the DC, just multiple that by 6 or something.

I like the costume, but I think that they should do something to make the collar comfortably buckle up the entire time.

Really, I can't blame Ben for leaving it open, because that would be uncomfortable as hell and probably make him gag during action scenes, but there's gotta be a happy medium somewhere.

HELL YEAH, i want DAREDEVIL-2 & would love to see it if AFFLECK comes back, well talking about the DAREDEVIL-2 story line, i think ideas from BORN AGAIN story line would be much better idea!!!

Why the hell would Marvel not make a DD2? instead they want to make antman,lol, youve got to be kidding me!

DD numbers= $179,179,718

It cost = $78 million with the marketing budget, $45 million.

I would say thats enough to warrant a sequel.

The movie did do good in theaters, I don't know why so many people think it flopped, it didn't. It was number 1 for two weeks, most movies don't stay in the number one spot for two weeks.
The only problem that DD had was the negative buzz by the critics, and Affleck started getting criticized for every move he made. It was stupid and unfair.
The movie was totally unfairly judged. And now, since the release of the Director's Cut, the movie has redeemed itself to many many fans.
So, a sequel would likely do well this time around. DD's got a new and loyal fan base, much like cult films have. I mean, DD has become, imo, a cult film.
Which is kinda cool, if you think about it.
BRING ON DAREDEVIL II!!!!

I thought the theatrical version of DD was alright(Damn unnecessary sex scenes lol) I bought the DD: DC because of what people on here had said about it, and I loved it. I would like to see a sequel, but done in more of the fashion of Batman Begins. Such as more instrumental music, none of that pop crap and a much deeper story. Maybe recasting or a different director...

really? I liked the director and the cast,I think the playground scene wasnt necessary. and it should be darker secont time around.

I think the cast and director are fine. I agree the music was lame, they should have stuck with a good muscial score.
I think the movie's tone was perfect. Most of the movie is darker than Batman Begins, if you ask me, except for that horrendous playground fight. That was really really sad.

I can't wait to hear MSJ make some kind of announcement on a potential DD2.
We really need some news, something to tide us over.

The way I see it, the most logical story for a sequal is Daredevil trying to prevent the bloodshed caused by the gangwar to take control of The Kingpin's empire now that he's in jail, seeing as how that's normally what happens when a major crime lord is taken out of the picture. You could have The Rose, The Owl, and Hammerhead be major characters, plus henchmen like Typhoid Mary, Bushwhaker, and nameless thugs and gangsters. And lots of violence.

Yeah, it's the only logical move. Scratch Typhoid Mary and I'll be happy.
But, you're right. It only makes sense. I would still want to see a dark brutal DD movie, but I would not want it to be too much like the first movie. They should keep it an action, mystery, thriller-type movie, but bring the superhero action up a notch. I loved the extreme jumps and poses, it looked great in the first movie. I loved Kingpin throwing DD around the room.
That kind of brutal but extreme action needs to stay in the movie. I would love to see DD have a vicious rooftop battle with like fifty ninjas.
I would love to see DD get caught in the crossfire of a crazy gang war, between the Owl and Hammerhead. Can they use the Rose? I mean didn't they make Kingpin in the first movie kinda alittle like the Rose already? He would kill or have someone killed and drop a rose on them when finished.
Anyway, the ninjas could be after Matt Murdock for his connection with Elektra. Meanwhile DD is trying to deal with the gang wars. It could be interesting to see how DD would manage to protect himself (Matt Murdock) and Foggy and the secretary (Karen?) when ninjas are after them and at the same time, trying to stop the new gang invasion in Hell's Kitchen. That's some drama.

I think if they did do a sequel it would have to be some kind of power struggle thing between remaining and new gangs. I would see it for sure because I loved the first one.

i like the crossfire idea. maybe there would be every crime gang in NYC after the power the kingpin had. imagine the action, scratch thyphoid mary though she was taken into elektra and ruined. but i like the other ideas. i think the costume was fine, alter the mask a tad and vola!

I loved the DC of the first DareDevil. I really hope they make a sequel but it'll more then likely have a new director on it. I also thought the costume in the first looked great.

DD2 is one of the top sequels I can't wait to see! I thought the costume was great in the first movie, they can change it around a bit to let people know this isn't the same DD from the first movie anymore, he's darker and much more serious this time around. But the color and the leather matrial was perfect so they can leave that alone.

Anyone who loved Batman Begins should buy the Dare Devil: Directors cut dvd.

First off,Garner as Elektra is the worst casting ever in any Marvel flick.

If they do a sequel,there would be no better way to go than to adapt Murdock Papers.
