I'm sure I couldn't wait if I were you. All those days between Tuesday and Saturday... there's just so many.

Only 16 bucks too.
Totally worth it.
I might wait to play the game until Saturday night, to go at it "chronologically"![]()
Here's my dilemma. I only havae a PS2 and Have no way of getting a 360 or ps3 for at least a couple more years...but I want to play this game. Am I gonna have any fun at all playing the ps2 version? I can't even find any details on it anywhere.
The Wii version follows the same general story but its wacky character models make this look like a wildly different title. The camera lock on and the Wii exclusive split screen co-op are nice additions but the simplified combat and truncated levels ultimately leave this game a little flat. The Wii provides a Ghostbusters experience, but its not the REAL Ghostbusters experience.
Any of your stores doing a midnight release? I dont think the one here is doing one, bummer.
yeah, the local Gamestop. Already requested a half day the next day at work, just so I can get some gameplay in.
This is what GameInformer had to say about the PS2/Wii version:
They gave the Wii/PS2 version a 6.5 while giving the 360/PS3 version an 8
IMO, tho, playing a "fake" Ghostbusters experience is better than playing no Ghostbusters experience.
So basically it's a lot like the other one with not as good graphics. In fact is it fair to say that if this game didn't exist for ps3 and 360, it'd be "awesome" ...for a ps2 game?
As stated in the intro, Ghostbusters won't change the way you think about videogame design, but it will change the way you think about licensed games. The gameplay isn't brilliant, but this is a loving third installment to a cherished franchise, and we thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
Presentation - 9.0
Fantastic use of the license. Classic locations, classic characters and classic enemies, lovingly recreated.
Graphics - 8.5
Excellent use of physics, great likenesses for the characters. Lip syncing is a little off though.
Sound - 8.5
So many classic Ghostbusters themes, plus A grade voice acting.
Gameplay - 7.5
The weakest element, but solid nonetheless, and hell, is there a cooler weapon than a Proton Pack?
Lasting Appeal - 7.5
Eight hours or so for the single player game, plus decent multiplayer.

7.5 Presentation
The game feels like a movie at times, the acting is solid, and you can get lost in the cutscenes. Still, Proton Packs not being connected to wands and a girl getting called "he" are rough.
8.0 Graphics
I like the cartoon style, but it could use a bit more detail -- it's fuzzy in areas. Of course, being able to destroy just about everything is pretty cool.
8.0 Sound
Having the voices of the four Ghostbusters is invaluable. Toss in the soundtrack from the film and the sound effects, and I'm sold. The music does repeat a bit too much, though.
7.5 Gameplay
Zapping and trapping with the motion controls is fun, but wrangling can take a bit too long and slow down the game. I don't dig the POV being assigned to the reticle.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
The game should take you between seven and eight hours. After that, there's not a ton to do, but you could double back for scans and art or co-op sessions.
Pre-order Ghostbusters by June the 15th at 11am CST with overnight shipping and get guaranteed delivery on the street date of June the 16th!
My GS said specifically that June 16th was the street date and they were expecting the shipment that Tuesday around noon. You might want to call in first or something, but I'm pretty sure that 16th is the street date

Hah, yea i just did. Dude said it'll be in on the 16th. It still concerns me that im seeing the 17th on websites like BestBuy and Walmart.
BTW I just saw a commercial for the game. It was for the wii version, but still cool. Kid was playing the game and Slimer joined in with him, then ate the wiimote![]()
Um, I don't know. I only know what the clerk told me at GS. That is somewhat worrying though.
No idea. Maybe the publisher sent out more review copies for the PS3 or places who got both preferred the PS3 or something. It's weird that there's so many more reviews for the PS3 version of the game. There's like 25 for it and only 10 for the 360 version. Sounds like communism at work if you ask me
How can the PS3 score be lower? I thought they mostly developed this game on the PS3? Oh well.
