"splitscreen multiplayer" is this revolutionary new technology that allows 2 people who enjoy socializing and actually being in the same room together to play the same game on one screen. I've seen it a few times this generation and I've found it to be an enjoyable experience...but it appears to still be in the early phases of development as it is not available for many games it would seem to fit perfectly with.

:(

Oh you mean when another person takes up space on my TV screen?? No...not feeling that, that's why God invented the internet

Look...this is the first Ghostbusters game in over a decade, it will hopefully lead to more games that have things like character customization and all that other stuff

LOL^ We all think Ashley wants us.

I just got my call! I actually missed it, so now it's on my voicemail! :yay:

Man... I'm probably gonna go bed at like 10pm just so tomorrow comes sooner!

Does that cheating w**** call you?!

Anyways, Dan didn't call me last night to tell me my copy would be available today. I hope I actually reserved it and didn't create the experience in my head.

I have always been curious as to why so many people reserve games. I have never had trouble just going into a Wal Mart or Best Buy and finding it. Not talking s**t just curious.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart and GameStop just happens to be right down the street from my office

There's always the chance that you could go into the shop and not find it. People prefer to hedge their bets. Plus, now there are usually extras you can get by reserving.

Cool cool. I guess cause I live right next to a Best Buy I never think about reserving. Nearest Gamestop is clear out of my way.

I'm closer to a Gamestop than a Best Buy. Although there's also a Wal-Mart in the same plaza as the Gamestop, so that's like my backup if I really, really want a game and GS is out.

Got this last night, loving it so far, never played a game like this where you don't have to kill anything.

It costs a pretty penny, but it's worth it.

Playing with friends with a smaller screen > Playing with a random stranger or a ghost of a person you may vaguely know on the internet.

It's not like it would be forced co-op or anything, so you could just decide not to use it, but I think for a lot of people it would've been really cool

Playing with friends with a smaller screen > Playing with a random stranger or a ghost of a person you may vaguely know on the internet.

I don't care if I know them, just as long as they're good....there are no friends on the internet, just temporary alliances

I realize, which is why it's almost always funnier to play with a friend that you know and shares your interest in the game

I'm thinking of picking this game up.

Doing research on the reviews and found this. Anyone else hear this?

Many of us were led to believe that the development of the Ghostbusters video game was done using the PlayStation 3 as the lead console. Brendon Goss, Executive Producer at Terminal Reality (Ghostbusters developers), claimed they had built an engine, the Infernal Engine, which was designed to make the most the PS3s processing power.

Despite this obvious hype, now that reviews of the game have been distributed, Lens of Truth have run a comparison test between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game and the results are disturbing. Judging by the video and screenshots, the Xbox 360 version seems to wipe the floor with the PS3.

There are a high number of problems ranging from very low texture resolutions, to poor quality shaders, which often don’t even display shadows on the PS3 iteration.

A number of nay-sayers are claiming foul play on Lens of Truths part, what do you guys think? Check out their video below and decide for yourselves:

No matter what the outcome, Just Video Games will be giving a full review of the PlayStation 3 version of Ghostbusters shortly, so stay tuned for our views on this adventure soon.

Update: Well, it would appear that the PS3 version can only muster 480p resolution while the Xbox 360 manages to comfortably churn out 720p HD video, sheer disappointment.

What does it matter?? for the exception of the sony fanboys who feel their being shortchanged who gives a ****??

Developers have even said, off the record, they prefer developing for the Xbox because Microsoft doesn't micromanage like Sony does

The PS3 version can only do 480p? No, I'm not buying that, and I can't say I buy the rest of it. The only other site to say anything about the graphics difference was IGN and even they said it wasn't very much, and their not even that trustworthy in that area. If the difference was this bad, surely we would have heard something by now.

Sounds to me like someone needed some hits for their website

No one likes a gimped port, but this is so far the only site to say the difference is that bad, so I'm taking it with a big grain of salt, and as said, it can make a big difference for those who have both systems

I don't know if it was faked, but Lens of Truth, as mentioned in that article, has a side-by-side video comparison of the two versions and the PS3 one does look noticeably blurry compared to the 360's sharp textures. More experienced eyes than mine picked out other problems with the PS3 version as well. I was curious about the difference between the two versions this morning, so I Googled and found these websites with the footage and some analyses:

Yeah, it makes sense because they are apparently running the PS3 version on 480p as opposed to 720p, like the 360. According to them this is the highest resolution it can support.

I find it hard to believe that if that were true this is the first we're hearing of it since so many reviews have been posted up of it

I guess I just can't feel bad for PS3 owners....i'm dead on the inside

Ill be picking up my copy on my lunch break and heading home right after work....no bar tonight

I'm tempted to actually buy this. It was gonna be a rental but it's so cool and the multiplayer sounds fun so I might just play it for a long time...

That does sound suspect. This is the kind of story that sticks around and gets painstakingly detailed updates periodically, though, so I'm sure we'll hear more about it as people play the game.

I mean I don't how reliable of a source this Lens of Truth is, but only running on 480p is a pretty big deal, since most people consider it just a really clean SD setting as opposed to HD. It's easy to set your PS3 and/or HDTV to output only in that definition, too. We'll see as more info comes to light I guess

Ok so who here is absolutely LOVING this game!?!?!?!?!? I just finished the first stage and it is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! This is THE best use of any license ever. You ARE a Ghostbusters. I cant get over this. This is just too incredible! I love it, love it, LOVE it!!!

A quick tip for any one wanting just that much more authenticity, turn off the aiming reticule. Its a little trickier, but man it really makes you feel like you are using that proton pack.

This game is AMAZING!
