Not crazy about the cover art, but then again, it's no big deal. The game footage looks great. Im sure this game is going to be incredible. My biggest concern, I'm hoping the game gives us at least 25-30 hours of gameplay. Single Player Mode...

I'm curious to see what the Live gameplay will encompass.

No, thats not going to happen. I cant even remember the last licensed game to reach 30 hours worth of game play(in fact i cant remember the last game period, out side of an RPG, to reach 30 hours of gameplay). Plus, its already been stated that the single player will last around 8 to 10 hours.

As for the Live game play. That will basically be co-op modes. There are a few different types of game modes that has you working together, or against each other to capture ghosts. The MP looks to be really fun.

I'm pretty sure the Wii version still allows you to use the rookie, but the game also allows you to co-op and use the orig guys.

Oh, ok. I had only seen screens of people using the originals. Though that still poses the question, to me anyway, as to why they decided to make the big boy versions without. I know they were made separately by different teams but you'd think they'd pool that idea together.

I LOVE the idea of playing as a new guy. Being that the rookie is supposed to be you, i think its just a brilliant move. I would have liked for a bit of customization tho, being, like i said the character is designed to be you.

Yeah, I get it and it's not going to hinder me from playing it or anything, but I'm not really all that into playing the manikin character. I get the purpose behind it but I never get the 'it's you!' feeling that you're suppose to.

Like I said I'm still getting it on and I'm still probably going to have just as much fun either way, but when I have the choice between lifeless character and character with even small personality, I almost always prefer the latter

Yeah, that's about as unrealistic as it gets

yea, I'm with you. I always prefer to have a fleshed out character. It really makes me scratch my head as to why the dev's didnt give us some sort of create a character type option, being that they have constantly stated you are the lead role. But like you said, its not going to hinder my enjoyment of this game at all. Bring on June 16th!!!

It would be a good question to ask the developers, thats for damn sure. Last time I checked, they designed the rookie to look like one of the designers of the game.

What a waste. I hate how everything is geared toward multiplayer stuff now. I don't give a s*** about multiplayer options; I want a great story of decent length, not something I'm done with in a couple days.

Yea, i always prefer a good single player to a good mp. If i could have it my way tho, id have both a great sp and great mp everytime. MP is just an ever growing trend between gamers. A quick look at the population on Xbox Live and Playstation Network shows that and i dont think its about to change any time soon. I think the mp for this game is going to be really, really fun tho, so im stoked for it.

I doubt I'll even play it. I really have no interest in MP whatsoever. I've tried. I played Left 4 Dead for a while because it's Valve, but even that just grates on me because the people I'm playing with are a**holes, or way too into it and barking strategies at me, or grossly incompetent.

Thats too bad because MP can be really fun if you have all the right components, ie good teammates. I generally never play online alone. I try to team up with at least one person that i know. I'm also pretty easy going, so i dont let alot of things get to me. I can see how someone who isn't like that, might be bothered by the ppl they meet online.

With this game tho, i think pal'ing up with 3 of ur buddies to bust ghouls and ghosts is gonna be too fun to pass up. Maybe we should play if ya get the game. I dont plan on barking any orders and I'm pretty sure i wont act like an ******* or be incompetent.

Altho the occasional "shorten your stream, i dont want my face burned off" might ring through the mic.

Well designed multiplayer like Call of Duty 4 or Team Fortress 2 is fun. Multiplayer that is shoehorned in just for sake of adding a bulletpoint on the back of a box isn't. I doubt I'll play the Ghostbusters multiplayer more than a few times. If that.

I think there is a positive argument to be made for shorter games. The longer a game is, the greater the chance is that you'll grow tired of the game mechanics through the sheer amount of repetition. Theres a greater chance for it to be buggy. etc... A thirty+ hour game on paper sounds great but it can also be very daunting. Very few games can pull that off and remain fun and interesting throughout. Grand Theft Auto IV is a game that I really love, but it could have benefited from being 10 to 15 hours shorter. (As all GTA games could, in my opinion.) And plus the shorter a game is the more likely I am to not only replay it, but finish it, and enjoy it!

Once i finish the story, i have a feeling im going to spend A LOT of time in the mulitplayer. Yelling for a buddy to throw out a proton stream to help with the ghoul im wrangling as another teammate readies a trap is the stuff my child hood was made of. I cant wait.

I'm unlikely to replay anything anyway. GTA 4 was a fine length for me. They kept things interesting enough to make it worth playing all the way through, so it wasn't a problem. Plus, when you finally get to the point where the story starts coming together, it's great. Those final few missions are addictive because of how good the story gets.

And I'm not asking for days and days of gameplay or anything. I understand that action games tend to be shorter by nature and I appreciate that it's out of necessity due to the mechanics only having so much variation. But 8 hours? That's just pathetic. 15 hours should be the benchmark for action games, as far as I'm concerned. If you can't make a good game that fills that much time, you probably can't make a good game, period.

I agree the last few missions were great. I'm not saying they should have chopped off the end of the game, lol. To me it just felt like there was a lot of fluff missions in the middle.

I'm glad you understand my point, but the bolded part is being extremely shortsighted. Call of Duty 4, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Gears of War 1 and 2, Portal, and Bioshock are all recent games that can be finished in well under 15 hours. That's just off the top of my head. Are you saying none of them are good games? Are you saying Valve, Epic, DICE, and Infinity Ward are incapable of making good games, period?

I agree with this, add to that the growing cost of development and you can see why we are seeing more and more games that feature an 8 to 10 hour single player campaign. You can create a fantastic experience in 8 hours. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune took me a little over 9 hours to complete and its one of the best games iv played this gen.

I'm not saying none of them are good games, but most could've done more.

CoD4 I never made it through the whole campaign because, frankly, I'm just not into squad-based shooters and the game mechanics were kind of lame to me (infinitely respawning enemies until you reach a certain objective?). Plus, as I understand it, pretty much everybody played it like 75% for the MP anyway, which, as I mentioned, holds no allure for me.

Mirror's Edge was over in a flash and there was certainly tons of stuff in that world that they could've exploited rather than ending on the boring-ass note they chose to end on. Seriously, they created an amazing world with a compelling backstory and then... chose to focus on one of the most boring, run-of-the-mill plots ever. I loved Mirror's Edge's gameplay, but its story left a lot to be desired.

Portal was genius. I can't argue there. It was a great length and I loved every second of it. So there are some exceptions to the rule. Maybe 10 to 15 hours would be a more realistic benchmark for SP games. But, on the other hand, Valve already proved that they can make great games of good length with Half-Life and Half-Life 2, both of which are much longer than the vast majority of games today. Half-Life's expansions, Opposing Force and Blue Shift, are about as long as most of today's full-length games.

I haven't played Dead Space, either of the Gears games, or Bioshock yet, so I can't comment on those.

I dunno...We get some cool stuff with the Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition for $40 less.

I dunno, might be overpriced, when you look at what it brings.

That's interesting they got the original slimer sculpter to make that slimer bust, definately looks like a throw back to the original.

the slimer thing looks kinda crappy...but stillthe set is worth the price:up:

Hmm, as die hard a Ghostbuster as i am, i think im sticking with the reg pre order edition at gamestop. Im feeling that grey Ghostbusters II uniform more than the amazon stuff.

Yeah, that stuff is kind of cool and I do consider myself a fairly hardcore Ghostbuster fan, but there is no way I can justify that kind of price tag for that.

Yeah...not even close to being worth an extra $70. Nice try, Amazon.

Nice, i was afraid i was the only hardcore Ghostbuster fan that wasnt gonna shell out the money to get that. I mean i have no problem dropping 100 bux for a collectors edition that would maybe include some sort of DLC and interviews with all of the cast etc. I mean id pay extra just for a 15 min interview with Ramis, Aykroyd, Murray and Hudson.

Yeah, I probably would consider myself pretty 'core when it comes to Ghostbusters, but even if I consider myself I've never blindly bought something related to that franchise that was either a rip or would cost me another purchase or something.

I mean for only about $40-50 more you could get the entire series of The Real Ghostbusters in a really awesome case. This is just an awful deal, imo. The bust is the only thing worth anything and and I just don't find it justified

Yep, I'm with you. I mean i fully intend on getting Ghostbusters on Blu Ray(even tho i own 2 copies of both 1 and 2), but im not buying anything blindly and like you said, the cost is not justifying what we get. I like the keychain tho, just not worth another 70 something bux
