Hell no.

Keep the cast. All they need is a new director (Campbell said he was done anyway) and a better writer.

Maybe like how Wrath of Khan came after Star Trek: Motion Picture?

The sad thing is there is no rights issue with Green Lantern to spark a reboot anytime soon like there is with Spider-Man, Superman, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four. If this tanks in the boxoffice it'll probably be the last we'll see of Green Lantern in theaters for a looooong time.

GL might be DC's hulk.
I'd bet on it.

Makes sense, especially Norton's film, it was good. Ang Lee went a little too far with the psychological anger issues.

We'll see, it has visuals and what maybe younger kids are looking for - right now, without even having seen it yet, it could be Ghost Rider/FF/DD material, which I really hope not, those were bad.

Hey hey, both Hulks were certified fresh and this is far from it from what I can see.
I don't know why I'm forcing myself to get up at 8 tomorrow morning, just so I can go see this movie for cheap and ultimately be disappointed. Oh yah, so I can legitimately tear this film a new one if it so deserves.

Marc Guggenheim wrote this film, right? There's the answer for me why the film is being received so negatively.

Anything I've read by him just disappoints me, the stories he did for Amazing Spider-Man were awful.

We're already talking reboot? The film still hasn't even officially opened yet. Yikes, you guys are scary. Why not start talk of the eventual reboot of the reboot.

yea but I'm referring to viewership and box office.

haha you never know with Hollywood.
Don't be surprised if we see a teen Kyle Rayner Green lantern reboot.

Art student Kyle is the chosen one. His Mother gets killed at the hands of some yellow Lanterns who are on earth looking for the Ion entity. Kyle realizes with great will power, comes artistic constructs.
Kyle beats the yellow lanterns until their boss Sinestro shows up. Kyles ring is drained and destroyed, at the last minute he merges with the ion entity, defeats Sinestro. Guardians show up at the end. They take back Ion and give kyle another ring.

Go Picture!

Most disappointed I have been since Spider-Man 3. I thought this could be the Star Wars of our generation, because GL's mythology is as strong and as rich. But the film is nothing but a standard superhero affair, with very few good action scenes, not the epic space saga I was hoping for. REBOOT THIS NOW.

6/10 (the action scenes and the ring constructs gave it a plus one).

I certainly don't have those type of expectations so maybe I'll enjoy it more.

I have a feeling if there is a reboot down the line it will be focused on John Stewart. He`s the only Lantern who has had mainstream exposure and his character will help them differentiate from this movie.

with all the reboot talk already....what if....for some crazy reason....WB did in the future decide to do the Jack Black version...

...I'm not judging the film till I see it, hopefully I enjoy it...

-fingers crossed-

I would love to see Jon Stewart as the GL. He would make the coolest constructs. They would probably make him an 25 year old afghan vet/struggling architect.

I would have preferred Stewart for the first film...

...I'm not sure who would be great though as Jon...

I bought my son the small action figure of Kilowog GL 03, and it comes with a power ring. Is the power ring supposed to light up? And if so, how in the hell does it light up??? I am new to this SuperHero stuff, so plz refrain from laughing out loud...LOL! Thanks for your efforts in this matter....plz help a sista out!

Oh god lol, I thought you guys were actually speaking of the guy from the Daily Show for a second, I was aghast.

They could set the premise for John as a former soldier who is tired of war and is looking to follow his boy hood dream as an architect only to be pulled in the forefront of the biggest galactic war in the universe. Could work.

The ring with Kilowog does not light up. You have to buy the ring that comes with the mask if you want one that lights up. The rings inside the packaging with the figures are just the standard ones. If you can find that mask/ring combo pack, which is about $7 bucks at most places I've seen, then go for that!

Denzel kinda sorta looks like John, certainly is bankable.
The 57 yeah old Denzel? He's probably a little too old and plump. he could play Jons father.
Yeah the whole jaded war vet theme could work. Struggling architect who gets pulled into a galactic war. Executed well, it could work.

I wonder how much stuff was left on the cutting room floor and if an extended version would change peoples opinion. I never went crazy over the DD extended cut but some people have.

I don't think quantity is the problem with it.
