This is the place to discuss the new Beta that hit this evening/yesterday for the lucky ones.

Just played 3 games of it... Team Slayer, Rumble Pit and Team Skirmish.

It is really good looking, but I think Bungie can polish it a little more... :heart:

The shield grenade is awesome, and it is DAMN GOOD to have the assault rifle back!

The Mongoose is a little strange, but a fun vehicle. I'm still partial to the good ole' Warthog.

From the videos iv seen, it looks like Halo 2 : Redux. Whats gonna seperate Halo 3 from Halo 2 in your opinion?

i love it the shield thing is frickin AWESOME!!!!!!..

its hella laggy and glitchy ... but still dope... maps LOOK BEAUTIFUL..

i like the mongoose... but could use an auto rifle on it ala the ghost....

Can somebody explain how this shield grenade works?

You pick it up, and to deploy it, press X.

It plants into the ground, and creates a bubble forcefield around you. Anyone shooting at you from outside the shield cannot touch you. HOWEVER, if someone walks in and shoots you, you gotta fight back. And throwing grenades while in the shield doesn't work... you'll kill yourself.

That or get you assassinated many a time.

The shield is helpful, but mainly as distractions, or help against explosions, you can't really take on more than two guys with it. All they have to do is come at you on the opposite sides. Its a cool effect though.

I don’t think it’s going to be much help in multiplayer due to that, but are characters in story mode going to be smart enough to walk into it?

Never got into Halo really. Played Halo 2 once I think Its about the hype

Darth, I used to be a level 32, but then kinda de-leveled to brush up my skills again.

you was leet.. i aint that good... rather casual gamer really..... my problem is i go RAMBO.. and just charge in.. when my game is calm i can own lots but leet snipers... damn themsnipers.... im more of a midrange game.. i can snipe decent but i'd rather not.. i love BR's AR' autos.. double spikers....i got some nading skills too... i can melee with the best... you will see.. i can take direction though. give me the game plan and i can follow it...im a complimentary player.. you will see when we hook up.. ima try and get my own ID this weekend .. i'll hit you up probly tomorrow fran
