I think the writers should revert Legion back to his comics version. They'd have a great motive for his vendetta against the Guardians, and we'd be able to see the Manhunters in a sequel!

We might see The Manhunters in a sequel, anyways... Probably will actually. They're far too important to leave out. Not just to the fans but to the history of the Corps.

The writers replaced the Manhunters with Legion. He was the Guardian's first attempt to use a color from the Emotional Spectrum (Yellow) to protect the universe.

true but whos to say they couldnt bring the manhunters in later with the right story.

If true, then it was a good move. Lets hope that the Manhunters do show up in the sequel. If there is one....

I'd mostly just like to see Sinestro or Sinestro and the Sinestro Corps in the second.

What i'm saying is that, by making Legion the Guardian's first attempt to protect the Universe, they made impossible for the Manhunters to show up.

And leave Sinestro for the third movie. Alongside with Amon Sur. :woot:

The "recharging kiss" is cheesy, but so is a magic ring. It can work if it's made about will, and played that way more than "love conquers all".

Think about it. The lanterns are about willpower. What's more impressive? Someone who can channel power with call? Or someone who can call that power TO him or outright create it?

No, they already hinted at 'Stro being the villain in the second one, so I bet itll be him.

I'm thinking:
Hammond/Legion
'Stro and the corps
Krona

Both can be cheesy but not all cheesiness fits GL. The property is a sci-fi super-hero franchise, not a romanic comedy. The magic ring, as cheesy as it is, has some logic to it that suits the mythos. The more logical the story is the more the audience will take it seriously. Adding random stuff connected with love is unnecessary IMO.

If it's about will, why bring up Carol at all? Surely they can do something less tacky with her.

Where do you go from there? It warps the mythos into something else. Not only would it make Hal virtually invincible as long as Carol's around, it forces the mythos into being more like the current Star Saphires not the GL's, and it ignores one of the mythos interesting devices that could be exploited as a vulnerability for his power the Spider-man movies avoided by making his web fluid natural.

How many stories have there been where someone goes "How did he tap the Central Power Battery"?

I'm not saying he could or would do this constantly. Maybe he could even try it again later, and it wouldn't work.

How is exploring the nature of what a human being with enough willpower and a connection, however tenuous, to that kind of power, a bad thing? That could easily be the seeds for Parallex, or something like Ion.

Again, this is if they play it that way. Not if they play it as "love conquers all".

oh....sorry.

I thought that this was the thread to discuss the script. I've seen other posters request it.....so......

but if it's against the rules to request the script....then I certainly don't want it.....lol.

Yes, he is among the most powerful.

yea alot probably dont remember or saw the sticky thread the mods had up that we are not alot to post/pm people things that are of copyrighted materials.

I think the film should start with Hal floating in space, motionless, having a narrated internal monologue with himself as he analyzes recent events. Then suddenly, he races off to an emergency...

I saw the title of this thread, so I am going to ask a question that I have (I hope it is allowed)

In the script, who is the character, "Pipe"?

(I hope it's okay that I ask that...)
